Miguel Garcia

Miguel Garcia Luna, 88, long-time resident of Roswell, NM passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at UMC Hospital in Lubbock, TX surrounded by his loving family. A rosary will be recited at St. John’s Catholic Church at 9 am on Friday, October 3, 2014 followed by a mass at 10 am with Fr. Juan Barrera O.F.M. officiating. He was born June 8, 1926 in Durango, Mexico to Innocente Garcia and Regina Luna. Miguel migrated to the United States at the age of 17. He became an agricultural farmer where he worked for the next 35 years. The next 13 years he worked as a housekeeper at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Miguel was a strong, hardworking man who deeply loved his family and longed to someday return to his home land. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, whom is Presentacion Faudoa de Garcia and is 84 years of age; his 3 children, daughter, Regina Ramirez and her husband Gustavo; daughter, Rocio Pasillas; and his son, Miguel Garcia and partner Rebecca Gonzalez; 3 surviving siblings, Pedro, Vicente, and Juana M. Garcia of Durango, Mexico; 15 surviving grandchildren – Leubinka Romero and her husband George, Erika C. Pasillas and her partner Erika McCalvin, Christopher Garcia and his wife Cruzita, Joseph Garcia, Renata Solis and her partner Andrew Perales, Adrian Pasillas and his partner Valerie Minjarez, Melissa Saenz and her husband Hector¬, Michael A. Garcia and his wife Angela, Joseph I. Lucero, Joshua A. Garcia and his partner Esther Portillo, Monica Garcia, Luis Angel Pasillas, Vanessa Baeza and her partner Joe Martinez, Joseph, and Briana Baeza; 24 surviving great grandchildren – Alejandro and Isabella Romero; Reagan Perales; Jazmine, Jose, Gerardo, Rayo, and Leon Pasillas; Joshua and Jeremiah Saenz; Jeremiah B., Michael, Isreal, Alexis, Jayden, Arthur, Lucia, Matthew, Jeremiah, and Koda Garcia; Sammy and Isaiah Aranda; Anissah and Aryanna Baeza. He was preceded in death by his parents Innocente and Regina Garcia; his 5 siblings, Lorenzo Garcia, Consuelo Cuevas, Julia Contreras, and Esperanza Flores, and Hortencia Juarez of Durango, Mexico. Miguel’s honorary pallbearers will be Gustavo Ramirez, George David Romero, Michael Anthony Garcia, Joseph Israel Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Joseph Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Adrian and Luis Angel Pasillas.
