A rosary will be recited for Monica Renee Canales, 36, of Roswell at 7:00 pm Monday, March, 9, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Monica, Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Renee passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Visitation will be 1-8 pm on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Renee was born October 7, 1972 to Juan G. Canales and Yvonne Quintero, in Roswell. She was an extremely generous person who would go out of her way to help others and meet their needs. Renee loved to cook, bake and spend time with kids and babies. She devoted her life to her job as Program Coordinator with Esperanza Developmental Services, which consisted of helping and being there for the Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Renee had a special place in her heart for a lot of people, but took extra pride for her Consumers (Individuals with Developmental Disabilities). She will be greatly missed by each and every life she touched. Renee is survived by her mother Yvonne Canales of the family home, three sisters; Melissa Canales, Liberty Barrios and her husband Jose and Brenda Chaves all of Roswell, one brother; Marty “Bubba” Brackeen, her fiancée; Raul Reyes, special aunt and uncle; Daniel and Manuela Canales of Artesia, other numerous aunts, uncles, one niece; Irrianna, four nephews; Juan Canales, Noah and Nathaniel Barrios and Dominic Flores. She was preceded in death by her father; Juan G. Canales, one brother; Jose Miguel Canales, her grandparents; Bonifacio and Josephine Dominguez, Bernardo De La Garza and Dolores Galindo and her great-grandparents; Jose Miguel and Sara Archuleta. Pallbearers will be Johnny Dominguez, Sefereno (Paul) Meza, Carlos Meza, Bonifacio Meza, Steve Vigil Jr., Ernesto Canales, Armando Canales, Eduardo Canales and Guadalupe Canales, Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her aunts and friends from Esperanza Developmental Services.
