Muriel Coggin

Graveside services are scheduled for Muriel Tisdale Wright Coggin at South Park Cemetery on Friday, March 26, at 2 p.m.. Services will be conducted by Matthew Skariah and Pastor Butch Neal of South Manor Baptist Church.Muriel went to be with the Lord, with her family at her side on March 23 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Muriel was born on November 2,1920, in Devol, Oklahoma to Walter Tisdale and Tanzy Slabaugh Tisdale, both now deceased. Her first husband, Christopher Wright and second husband, David Coggin, also preceded her in death as did her two brothers, Frank Tisdale and Ben Tisdale, sister, Shirley Tisdale Thurman,granddaughter, Tamara Michelle Morrow and grandson, Dee Morrow. Muriel was the secretary for the Juvenile Probation Office for 22 years before her retirement. She was an active member of the Public Employee Retirement Association and a member of South Manor Baptist Church,Saints Sunday School Class and Ladies Prayer Group. Muriel was also a member of BPO Does Lodge and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.She was a volunteer for the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Auxiliary and received a certificate for volunteering over 5,600 hours. Muriel was an avid bridge player for many years until she lost her eyesight and could no longer play. She belonged to several Bridge Clubs and made many lifelong friends while enjoying one of her favorite past times. Muriel and her husband David were adventurous and loved to travel and took numerous trips with Hi-Neighbors. Muriel was the true matriarch of her family and was fondly referred to as "Granny Murrel" by all of her grandchildren whom she dearly loved, especially the babies. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Wright Morrow and husband, Wilburn, also known as Buster of Roswell and Toni Berg and her husband Neil, of Albuquerque. She is also survived by grandsons, Artie Morrow and his wife Julie of Roswell,Christopher Morrow, Eric Berg and his wife Judy and Kalle Berg all of Albuquerque, Kirk Berg and his wife Amy of Austin, Texas and Granddaughter-in-Iaw, Brenda Morrow of Roswell. Great-grandchildren,Cierra Boyd, David Morrow, Mikah Dunne, Cristy O'Connor, Joshua Morrow, Erik and Alyssa Berg and Mikayla Berg. 9 great-greatgrandchildren, two nieces, Brenda Lee of Mineral Wells, Texas and Kitty Thurman of Tacoma, Washington and Janie Thurman of Colorado and two stepdaughters Lindy Coggin and Charlene Coggin also survive her. Muriel was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
