Nina Edwards

Nina Adaline Edwards (Campbell) was born on March 24, 1926 in Milam County, Texas to Ed and Iva Campbell on the Campbell family farm. Much help was needed on the family farm as she was 1 of 11 siblings. They all grew up loving one another, of course with a family tiff every once in a while. Nina was the only one left at the time of her death. Nina passed away on November 16 2023 to her heavenly home. Nina married Clinton Allen Edwards while he served during WWII on May 22, 1943, the day after his 20th birthday. After his military service, they started their life together as farmers. Several moves and changes in careers, and two children, they landed in Roswell, NM. Glenda Gayle Raby (Edwards) was born September 7, 1944 in Littlefield, Texas and Charles “Chuck” Clinton Edwards was born June 6, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas. After they moved to Roswell, Nina got her GED so she could go to beauty school and then opened and ran her own beauty shop for 19 years. In 1972, she studied to get her Realtors license, and spent the rest of her career as a Realtor until she retired at the age of 81. Nina was the member of First Baptist Church of Roswell from 1956 until the time of her death. She was baptized in a lake in Texas as a young child. Nina enjoyed sewing, quilting, taking care of her garden, and cooking. Her best memories were having the family at the cabin in Ruidoso, NM for 50 years. Any excuse to go to the cabin… LET’s GO! Clinton Allen Edwards died in August of 1992. Nina is survived by her two children, Glenda and Dan Raby of Roswell, NM and Chuck Edwards of La Quinta, CA. Her grandchildren, Shawn and Sheila Rice of Granberry, TX, Clinton Raby of Roswell, NM and Shea and Eric Ferland of Midland Texas. Her great grandchildren, Patience Raby and her fiancé Dominique Dunlap of Albuquerque, NM and Lukas Raby of Roswell, NM. Nina was a very strong woman who loved her family, and she was much loved by them! Her family would like to thank Janett and Jon Reeves and Jana’ Clements, her care givers, for their time and love spent with mom, and the entire staff of Goodlife Assisted Living in Portales, NM. There will be a service at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 21,2023 at 10 am with grave side after. A lunch will be served at The Liberty 312 N Virginia at noon.
