Patricia Ryan

Patricia Jo Ryan, 71, peacefully ascended, leaving this physical world on Friday, February 7, 2025. Pat was at home with daughters Jesse and Josie in Roswell, NM. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Best Western Plus located at 97 Camelot Drive, Ruidoso, NM 88345 on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 3pm - 8pm. On August 21, 1953, Patricia Jo Ockwig was born to Norman Almo Ockwig and Myrtle Iona Ockwig in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pat grew up with her nine siblings near the Minnesota river valley in Southern Minnesota, attending school in Renville, Delhi, and Belview where she graduated in 1971. Pat was a passionate learner and during her twenties and thirties, she had careers that reflected her interests in well-being such as counseling, chiropractic care, and massage therapy. Pat continued to pursue her interests while clerking for a judge and later obtaining her real estate license. Prior to retirement, Pat worked at Inn of the Mountain Gods for many years as a poker dealer. Pat’s spirit for exploring meaning and truth always made for amazing conversations where she was quick to listen and thoughtful in speech, making her a trusted advisor to many. She loved reading, animals, museums, nature, flower gardening and landscaping, dancing, astrology, and she had such appreciation for the mysteries and splendor of God’s creations. Never one to shy away from a game of cribbage or most any card game, Pat loved spending time with family and friends while playing cards, holiday gatherings included games being played to see who would have to clean the kitchen. Those precious games will be sorely missed. And while later years limited her travel and technology was not her comfort zone, Pat would do all she could to keep up with Max and Sam’s sports and school activities that were broadcasted, as well as the group video calls she had with her sisters. Those moments filled Pat with love, joy, and laughter. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Pat are her children; Elizabeth (Allan) Peck of Linstrom, MN, Jesse Ryan of Roswell, NM, Nick (Gloria) Ryan of Houston, TX, and Josie Parsons of Ruidoso, NM. Her six grandchildren; David Christopher Peck, Heather Adrielle Mueller, Joseph James Peck, MaryKathryne Elizabeth Peck, Massimo Michael Ryan, Samson Vittorio Ryan. Twelve great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Pat’s siblings; Sheryl Hall, Donald (Pat) Ockwig, Anna Dethlefs, Charlene (Joel) Buller, Deborah Smith, Peter Ockwig. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Myrtle Ockwig, siblings Gerald Ockwig, Roger Ockwig, Judith Brantner, and her grandson Michael Allan Peck. The family of Patricia Jo Ryan wishes to extend sincere thanks to Enhabit Hospice of Roswell, NM, especially Pat’s primary nurse, Rebecca Lyan as well as Death Doula, Amy Boaz.
