Patsy Carol Bynum

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Patsy Carol Bynum, passed away peacefully in her home in Roswell, NM, on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the age of 76. She was born in Echo, TX on December 8, 1939 to Frank Leathers (Pud) and Alma (Crosby) Barnes. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her children and going out with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her devotion to family, her undeniable love for her children, her orneriness, and her great sense of humor. She and her sweetheart, Billy Ray, raised their daughters and surrounded them with love while instilling in them morals and family values. Patsy, better known as "Pat'', worked for Hall-Poorbaugh Press as office manager for 15 1/2 years. She worked with her husband as office manager and truck driver in their moving company for 16 years. During that period, she and Linda Bynum made deliveries in all forty-eight continental United States as well as parts of Canada. The pair was known as "Mother Truckers" and had hilarious stories to tell of their adventures on the road. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Leathers and Alma (Crosby) Barnes and her niece Leslie Hammonds. Patsy leaves behind her adoring husband, Billy Ray Bynum; two daughters: Daina Roberts and husband Ray of Albuquerque, NM and Darya Bynum of Roswell, NM as well as five granddaughters: Sarah Roberts and fiance Erik Carlson of Colorado Springs, CO; Alison Roberts of Albuquerque, NM; Emily Roberts of Albuquerque, NM; Samantha Shull of Roswell, NM; Shelby Shull of Roswell, NM and three great grandchildren; Daisha, Isaiah and Kandis. She also leaves behind her sister Juanita Cross and husband Buck of Clovis, NM as well as an extended family and many friends who loved her very much. A memorial service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory in Roswell, NM on Friday, July 15, at 11:00 AM.
