Paula Orosco

Paula Orosco, 92, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family in Dexter, NM. There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a Rosary at St. Peter’s Church on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Hagerman Cemetery in Hagerman, NM. Paula was born on June 12, 1932, to Donicio and Juanita Quiroz in Victoria, TX. She married Lorenzo Orosco on March 24, 1948, they had twelve children together. Paula was a member of the prayer group at St. John's Catholic Church and the director of the prayer group at the Immaculate Conception Church in Dexter, NM. She was also an honorary member of the Guadalupanas Society. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She always spent valuable time with her family and loved them with all her heart. Dancing was one of her most favorite things to do and she was a great dancer. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors swimming and having picnics at the river with her children on Sundays and doing all of those things in the company of her loving family. Paula is survived by 11 children: 9 daughters: Olga Venegas and her husband (Tomas) of Dexter, NM, Yolanda Gonzales of Dexter, NM, Ernestina Martinez of Roswell, NM, Sylvia Orosco of Roswell, NM, Lucy Orosco and companion (Johnny Gutierrez) of Hagerman, NM, Enedina Cantu and husband (Jesus) of Dexter, NM, Susie Velasquez of Dexter, NM, Sophia Orosco and partner (Anthony Herrera) of Roswell, NM, and Jenny Miramontes and husband (Miguel Miramontez) of Roswell, NM; 2 sons: Lorenzo Orosco of Dexter, NM, and Ben Orosco of Roswell, NM; 34 grandchildren; 91 great grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren and 2 sisters: Adela Trujillo and Isabel Medina. Paula was preceded in death by her parents: Dionicio and Juanita; her husband, Lorenzo Orosco; and daughter, Enriqueta “Katy” Sanchez. Pallbearers: Benny Salas, Anthony Orosco, Timothy James Aguilar, Jaime Orosco, Santana Orosco, Michael D. Orosco, John Paul Jacob, Richard J. Sanchez, and Joshua Dominguez. Honorary Pallbearers: Evaristo Gonzales, Lorenzo Orosco IV, Ruben Esquivel Jr, Daniel Cisneros, and Albert Dominguez. Paula’s tribute was lovingly written by her family.
