Ralph Arden Meadows Jr.

On Thursday, November 15, 2018, Ralph Arden Meadows Jr., 77, lost his hard-fought battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Old “Lou” might have won the fight, but Ralph got the prize, his “Reward in Heaven.” Please take a moment and share a fond memory or kind expression of sympathy for Ralph’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. Services: There will be a Viewing at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 115 W. 11th St., Roswell, NM, on Friday, November 23, 2018, at 5:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. Pastor Jason Perry will be officiating, and Pastor Randy Rhoton will read scripture. A eulogy speech will be given by a very good friend, Len Stokes. Interment will be held at South Park Cemetery on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 10:00 AM, followed by a family reception at Tabernacle Baptist Church. On March 16, 1941, Ralph was born in Roswell, NM, St. Mary’s Hospital, to Ralph Sr. and Evelyn Green Meadows. He grew up in Roswell and together, he and Bea built their home. Ralph’s talent was woodcarving. He loved to build model planes and carve out wooden ones. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist. Ralph worked in construction throughout the years. After thirty-five years with Armstrong Construction, he retired. He enjoyed his work and took pride in everything he did. If you drive around town, you will see a lot of parking lots and roads Ralph had a hand in building. His family and friends will dearly miss Ralph. Survivors: Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Ralph are his loving wife, Bea; daughters: Karen and Lee Foster of Ft. Sumner, NM, Terri Fugua of Weatherford, TX, Barbara and Michael Sharp of Weatherford, TX; sons: Billy Meadows of Roswell, NM, William Hite of Weatherford, TX, Robert and Kimberly Hite of East Bethel, MN; sister, Jody Yowell of Roswell, NM; sister-in-law, Joy and James Griffith of Odessa, TX; twenty grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nephews, nieces, and a lot of friends. Preceded: Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph Sr. and Evelyn Green Meadows; son, Chris Meadows; infant sister, Barbara Tyler; and brothers-in-law: Harold Tyler, Tuffy Deck, Billy McDaniel, and Don Yowell. Pallbearers: Chosen to serve as Pallbearers will be Ken Dillard, Jim Mayes, Carlos, Dusty Johnson, Freddy Herrera, Johnny Hughes, and Melvin Montoya. Honorary Pallbearers: Chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Armstrong, Pat McGill, all former employees of ACC, and a very special friend, Charles Smith. Memorials: Memorials may be made in Ralph’s name to TBC Bus Ministry. Special Thanks to Kindred Hospice, Ralph’s nurse, Roberta, and to a special friend, Ken Dillard, who picked him up off the ground more than we can count, and all the friends who visited him.
