Randy Allen Gibson passed away on January 23, 2025, after a lifelong battle with diabetes. He was born on May 4, 1960, in Lafayette, Indiana, to James Gibson and Carolene Wilson. Randy’s family later moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where he attended Mesa Middle School before graduating from Roswell High School in 1978. He later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he worked for Mercedes-Benz for many years. It was there that he met the love of his life, Lisa. After six years of dating, they returned to Roswell to be married on November 24, 2007. The couple then made Roswell their home, where Randy worked for Champion Motorsports for over a decade. Randy had a deep passion for life. He loved playing and watching hockey, hiking in the mountains, riding motorcycles, and enjoying video games. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors brought joy to those around him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Earl and Ethel Gibson and Julian and Mollie Sargent, as well as his parents, Carolene Wilson and James A. Gibson. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Holmes Gibson, and his stepsons, Lon Kelly and Nicholas Kelly. He is also survived by his sisters: Penelope Arches (Jimmie) of Roswell, Kandi Overstreet of Moriarty, NM, Victoria Braun of Lubbock, TX, and Jennifer Luke (Tommy) of Jackson, MS. His Aunt Macie Eaker of Roswell also mourns his passing. He leaves behind seven nieces: Wendy Allgood, Kristen Edison, Marcella Curtis, Myka Lund, Zabrina Gibson, Kelsie Luke, and Kayla Luke; and four nephews: Bryann Aness, Jonathan Hamlet, James Chaves, and Jeremy Chaves. Randy cherished his many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Bill and Rena Green of Roswell. Randy’s kindness, sense of adventure, and love for his family and friends will forever be remembered. “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 Celebration of Randy's life will be held at 1204 W. Hobbs St. from 6pm to 9pm on Feb 8th.
