Ruben Leaton

A rosary will be recited for Ruben Patrick Leaton, 48, of Roswell 7:00 pm Sunday July 20, 2008 at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with a prayer service to follow. Ruben passed away Friday, July 18, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends. Viewing will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the rosary. Ruben was born November 17, 1959 in Roswell, New Mexico to Ignacio J. Leaton and Corina Maria Aragon Leaton, he was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ruben was employed at Nova Bus for many years and was a reserve member of the National Guard. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, etc. and creating scenic forts and armories in his back yard. Ruben enjoyed cooking out and creating recipes for his friends and family to share. He loved his dogs they were more than just pets to him. He took pride in creating landscapes and decorating for the holidays, Ruben never met a stranger, was always the life of the party, and will be truly missed. Ruben is survived by his children, daughter, Valerie D’Anna Leaton and son, John Patrick Leaton and his wife, Angel; one granddaughter Amiah Nicole Leaton and a grandbaby due in February; father, Ignacio Leaton; two brothers Michael Leaton and his wife, Naty and Alex Leaton; four sisters, Diane Greer, Laura Green and her husband Ray, Teresa Chavez and her husband George and Cecelia Leaton; two nephews Joshua Chaves and Jeremy Leaton; six nieces; Michelle Robertson and her husband Roy , Sherrie Leaton, Amy Chavez, Alexandra Leaton, Ale Leaton and Ashlee Green; the mother of his children, Veronica Soza and her husband, Sammy; best friend who was like a brother to him, Jaime Rullan III; best buddies “the banditos”; dog, Filo Beto; many great friends too numerous to mention by name; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins Ruben was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Annie Molina Leaton and Ignacio Leaton Sr., maternal grandparents, Jose Granfe and Amalia Aragon, his mother, Cora Leaton, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will be receiving friends and 706 El Dora Drive.
