Sally Calzada

Funeral services will be held for Sally Calzada, 86, of Roswell at 1pm Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Lucero, Jr. officiating. Burial to follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery. Sally passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 surrounded by the love of her family. Vistation will be Wednesday from 8 am – 1pm at the funeral home. Sally was born July 24, 1926 to Jose Ramirez and Tiodora Canada in Ballinger, Texas. She was loved by everyone that knew her. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, loved family gatherings. She was a loving mother and grandmother, raising her four children on her own after her husband, Juan Calzada passed away. She never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She also loved to tell stories about her childhood and when her children were growing up. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Emilia Sanchez, Ben Calzada, Jessie Calzada and his wife, Sylvia and Virgie Gonzales and her husband, Tino all of Roswell; her grandchildren, Elisa Sanchez, Robert Johnny Sanchez, Johnny Calzada, Steven Sanchez, Israel Calzada, Esmeralda Sarellano, Angela Lucero-Horton, Michael Calzada, Corina Calzada-Hopkins, Maribelle Quintana, Jimmy Lucero, Karina Arrieta, Rebecca Armendariz, Myra and Ruby Calzada; Ricardo and Anthony Jimenez; forty great-grandchildren; two-great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Rumaldo Rios and his wife, Mary of Las Cruces, NM and Cristobal Rios of Tulia, TX; her sisters, Olivia Perez of Ballinger, TX; Martina Garza of Tulsa, OK; Neomi Rios of Plainview, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ben Calzada, John Calzada, Michael Calzada, Steven Sanchez, Paul Horton and Auggie Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Lucero, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and Tino Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Calzada, her parents, Jose Ramirez and Tiodora Canada, two sisters, Ermalinda Lopez and Josepha Nevarez and her granddaughter, Sally Flor Calzada.
