Shirley Joan Stillman

On January 17, 2025, our beloved Shirley J. Stillman was called home to heaven. Please take a moment to share a kind thought or memory with Shirley's family at www.andersonbethany.com. Born on July 25, 1943, to Otis and Ruby Jo Dillard in Roswell, NM where Shirley grew up alongside her brother, Ken. She had three children who she loved very much, Donnie, Quinn, and Michelle. Shirley loved flashy jewelry and always had the best outfit in the building (she made most of them herself). She spent many years providing care to the community at St. Mary's Hospital and Caprock. She later spent the rest of her working days with the State Highway Department, where she retired. When she wasn't working, she spent her time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the best Nana to all of her babies. She was one of the toughest women around, from being a little girl to her young party days, to being a mama, and finally a nana. She was the glue that kept her family together. She always kept her grandkids close and made sure they knew they were safe and loved. In Memory of Nana, memories grow, and memories fade, but our memories of you will never go away. Your smile rests in mine, your hands help me sew, your love fills my heart, your spirit runs through my soul. In memory of Nana, the trunk to my tree, I live my life as her legacy. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Otis and Ruby Jo Dillard, her Daughter, Michelle Stillman-Romero, and her two Grandsons, Lawrence and Levi Dillard. She is survived by her Brother Ken Dillard, two Sons, Donnie Whitlow & his wife Mary, and Lawrence Quinn Dillard & his wife Sylvia; Grandchildren Justin, Josh, Dylan, Benjie Ray, Jeremy, Julia, Mikayla, Lauren, Jessica, Daijah, Robert, and Savanah; great grandchildren Jerimiah, Alicia, Anaveah, Shaniya, Daniel, Victoria, Leilani, Avery, Wyatt, Genesis, Benji, Rylee, and Adoni, and her lifelong best friend, Donna Martin. We would like to extend a special thank you to Daijah Dillard and Sonja Romero for caring for and catering to her every need, making sure she was loved, comfortable, and well taken care of in the last of her days. We can never repay you for your unconditional love, your efforts to give her the best quality of life, and all of the sacrifices you all made. Also, to Enhabit Hospice for her end-of-life care. The celebration of Shirley's life will be announced at a later date.
