Silvino Munoz Ramirez, 89, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his home in Hagerman, New Mexico, surrounded by the love of his family. A funeral mass to honor Silvino’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church in Hagerman, New Mexico. Silvino was born on September 12, 1935, to Jose Munoz and Catalina Ramirez, in Valle de Zaragoza, Chihuahua. Born into a farming family, Silvino joined the workforce at a young age and continued that unmatched work ethic until he retired many years later. Around the age of 14, Silvino moved to Delicias, Chihuahua, where he worked at an ice cream parlor. It was here that he met the love of his life, Maria Munoz, and on February 4, 1955, they married; after starting their family, they relocated to Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, where Silvino would commute back and forth from the United States for work. Around 1990, Silvino, Maria, and their family relocated permanently to the United States, purchasing a home in Hagerman, New Mexico, and it was here that they planted their roots and have resided ever since. Up until his retirement, Silvino worked for Barney Green Farms, doing any and all jobs needed to make sure that farming operation was successful. After his retirement, he spent his days surrounded with laughter and the love of his family; going on special road trips and making the best of the days he was given. One of Silvino’s greatest achievements, and something he was incredibly proud of, was becoming a United States citizen on November 18, 2011. Silvino was an honest, humble, and hardworking man—always giving to others in need—and truly the best dad that anyone could ask for. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. Those left to eternally treasure their memories of Silvino are his wife, Maria Munoz; children: Javier and Trinidad, Dora, Sylvia and Memo, and Rosario; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Alejandro, Daysy, Jonathan, Alicia, David, Matt, Manuel, and Jose; great-grandchildren: Marco, Aryana, Dante, Elisa, Josue, Akane, Nathaniel, Gael, Amyra, Luz, Romina, and Regina; siblings, Victoria, Celia, Elena, Jesus, and Paulina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Those waiting with open arms to welcome Silvino into rest are his parents: Jose Muñoz and Catalina Ramirez; siblings: Carmen and Irene; children: Jose Luis and Luz Elba; sons-in-law: Ramon and Jose; and grandson, Julio. Blessed to serve as honorary pallbearers are Javier, Elizabeth, Marco, Daysy, Nathaniel and Aryana. Silvino’s family would like to give a special thank you to the following: Dr. Ana Arnett and her team, Interim Home Care-Nurse Frances, the Interim Hospice Team, and Father Rafael.
