Thomas Lee Sandles, Sr. 2/23/1953 – 8/13/2021 Thomas Lee Sandles, Sr., 68, was called home on Friday, August 13, 2021. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Thomas’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. On February 23, 1953, Thomas was born to L.T. and Myra Sandles, in San Angelo, Texas. Thomas was a valuable employee at the New Mexico Military Institute where he worked as a Grounds Keeper for many years and eventually, honorably retired. While employed at NMMI, he developed a love for the game of Golf. As an enthusiast, he loved a good, strategic game where he could show off his skills to anyone who cared to join him in one of his favorite pastimes. When he wasn’t on the golf course, he cherished the company of his grandchildren. He could go on for hours spending time and playing with them, making memories that will go on in their hearts for years to come. He also found watching old Western movies very entertaining as well as football games. He was a Washington Redskins fan and cheered his team on to victory every chance he got. He was also an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Thomas left many memories for his loved ones to cherish and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Those left to revere his memory are his wife, Amanda Sosa; children: Thomas L. Sandles, Jr., Cynthia Sandles, Lee Sandles, Anthony Sosa, Joshua Sosa, Freddie Sosa and Tiffany Anderson; grandchildren: Mikhail Sandles, Malcolm Templeton, Vivian Sandles, Jeremiah Sandles, Jamiah Sandles, Daniel Sandles, Anjel Sandles, D.J. Sandles, Anthony Sandles, Ciara Sandles, Israel Anderson, Avery Sosa, Harley Sosa, and Zoey Sosa; great-grandchildren: Gabriella Sandles, Jerimiah Sandles, and Noah Lea Sandles; brothers: L.T. Sandles and wife Diane, Henry Sandles and wife Diana, and Cecil Sandles, Sr. and wife Patricia. He is preceded in death by his step son, Robert Joseph Sosa; father, L.T. Sandles; mother, Myra Sandles; and sister, Claressa Sandles. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Thomas Sandles, Lee Sandles, Anthony Sosa, Joshua Sosa and Freddie Sosa.
