Ty Dustin Ross

Ty Dustin Ross, 45, passed away on August 8, 2016. He was born on March 19, 1971, to Judy Willis and Gayland James Ross in Roswell, NM. Ty married Christine Grant on November 12, 2003. He worked for L & E Services in Loco Hills, NM, until his heart condition prevented him from truck driving in 2015. Although Ty’s life was taken way too soon, he lived more than most people. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He made an impression on every person he met. Ty was no angel, but he was a very honest, generous, caring and funny person. Ty always said, “After I’m gone, people will still be telling campfires stories about me.” Ty’s love for children was obvious to anyone around him. He loved to take any and all kids who wanted to go to the movies, on bike rides, camping, or just to sleep in a tent in the backyard. Ty played many roles in his life; from throwing can goods at the police to volunteering at his kid’s school. Ty went down every walk of life, but was happiest in the role of a working husband and father. Preceding Ty in death are his mother and father, and his Poppy, Willard James Ross. Ty is survived by his wife, Christine and their children, Caleb and Lilah Ross of Roswell. Also surviving are his sons Tyler and Russell Ross and their mother, Becky Smith, also of Roswell; four sisters: Kristi Ross, Tammy Mendoza and husband Sammy, Jamie Mendoza and husband, Robert, and Erica Muniz and husband, Jaime all of Hobbs, NM. Ty is also survived by siblings: Shaddock Ditmore, Clint Ditmore, and Teresa Felts and their father, Terry Ditmore. Ty was raised with four cousins whom he considered more like siblings than cousins. They are: Shane Willis, Melissa Willis Miller, Nicholas Willis, and Justin Willis, all of Roswell. He was greatly loved as a father, husband, brother, son, and friend. The list of extremely close friends would be never ending. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, by all that knew him. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 12 – 8 pm at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 500 N Pennsylvania Ave, Roswell, NM. Following the services, the family is inviting friends and family to join them at the Serenity Club at 1000 E. Bland St. for a potluck meal. Obituary was lovingly written by the Ross family.
