Urbano Carrillo

Graveside services for Urbano Carrillo, 86, of Roswell will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 29, 2008 at South Park Cemetery. The Elder Henry Urquidez will officiate. Urbano passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Sunset Villa Care Center surrounded by the love of his family. Urbano was born on April 13, 1922 to Urbano Carrillo Sr. and Rosa Montano Carrillo. Urbano was a licensed plumber and a truck driver for a distributing Co. He enjoyed talking about his truck driving experiences. His last job was working for the State Highway Dept. Urbano came from a family in Lincoln, NM his father Urbano Carrillo Sr. and his two brothers, Patrocino and Cresencio Carrillo were considered the best horse riders and shooters of Lincoln County. Being that Patrocino was the best. The three brothers were featured with their pictures on the Westerner of 1975. The same picture hangs on the wall at Lowes in Alamogordo, NM. The family all remember him as a person who always had a comment to say, and a very quick thinker to say it. There was never a dull moment when you were with him. He had a very good sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Carrillo of forty-eight years, his sons, Cooney Carrillo and his wife, Pricilla; Orlando and his wife, Gloria; Gilbert and his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Virginia Miranda and her husband, Richard; Gloria Anaya and Cathy Madrid and her husband, Ronnie all of Roswell; two step-daughters, Diana Gamboa and Christine Borrego of El Paso, TX; a step-son Andrew Gamboa and his wife, Tracy of Roswell; two sisters, Austrelia Vigil and Rosie Torrez; two brothers, Chris Carrillo and Manuel (Nele) Carrillo; eighteen-granchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, Savanah Carrillo and Jay Carrillo. Urbano was preceded in death by his parents, four sons, Rennie, Melvin, Armando and Floyd Carrillo, one daughter, Martha Najar, his first wife, Rosa Leyba Carrillo and his step-daughter, Shirley Gamboa. Pallbearers will be Floyd Carrillo, Joe Ray Carrillo, Armando Carrillo, Rennie Carrillo, Ronnie Madrid Jr., and Adam Madrid.
