Victoria May Kross

VICTORIA MAY KROSS, 88, went to the loving arms of her Savior and Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2019. SERVICES: Services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery. Vicky was born in Chicago, IL, where she met and married Wayne H. Kross, the love of her life, in 1953, while Wayne was stationed at Walker Air Force Base. They spent the first year of their marriage in Roswell, NM. After returning to Chicago and raising their family, they retired back to their honeymoon town in 1981. Victoria was a lifelong Christian and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Vicky's life was centered mainly around faith and family. She was known for the beautiful flowers she grew and elaborate quilts she sewed. SURVIVORS: Vicky is survived by her husband, Wayne H. Kross; brother, Edward Stone and wife Cathy; as well as her children: Carol Mestas and husband Louis, Annemarie Oldfield, Lynn Lang and husband Glenn, Dianne Marley and husband Mike, and John Kross and wife Carol; along with eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, who loved and will miss her. PRECEDED: She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Mary Stone of Chicago; and her brother, Charles Stone. HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Chosen to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Kuzniar, Catherine Kuzniar, Carolynn Armstrong, Joseph Oldfield, Cody Ogrentz, Alex Ogrentz, Elizabeth Marley-Hollingsworth, Margaret Walter, Michelle Marley, Rob Kross, Andrew Kross, and Julie Kross. The family would like to thank the devoted caregivers at Avamere, and Chris Hicks, who were so loving and compassionate to our mother and to us during her final illness. We would also like to thank our friends and co-workers, who demonstrated their love and support with meals and prayers.
