Obituary for Virginia “Ginger” Rose Barton Virginia “ Ginger” Rose Barton went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 2, 2008 after a five and a half year long battle against breast cancer. She is preceeded in death by her grandparents, Ira and Agnes Reimer and Howard and Paulene Crippen, 2 uncles and 1 cousin. Ginger was born to Benjamin Reimer and Hilma Rose Green on March 9, 1953 in Long Beach, California. She lived in Kentucky, California and Colorado throughout her life and moved to Roswell in 1985 where she resided until her death. On August 9, 1986 she married Loyd “Mike” Barton who survives her at the family home. She is also survived by her mother Hilma Rose Green of Roswell; father Benjamin Reimer and wife, Marion of Paradise, California; brothers Tommy Green and wife, Dale of Dallas, Texas; David Reimer of Needles, California; sister Elaine Archuletta and husband Pete of Olathe, Kansas; daughters Kimberly Chenoweth and husband, Ron of Roswell; Deanna Hall and husband, Ronnie of Roswell; and son Michael Barton and his wife, Trisha of Henryetta, Oklahoma. Ginger, also known as “Nana”, dedicated her life to her grandchildren, Dustin Frazier, Tyler Frazier, Timothy Frazier, Nicholas “Shorty” Willis, Marshall Gunn, Kaci Chenoweth, Kylee Chenoweth, Christa Watson, Trae Barton, Natalie Barton and Jaycee Barton, as well as many “adopted” children who considered her their Nana. Numerous uncles, nieces, nephew and cousins also survive. When Ginger moved to Roswell she worked as a store manager at Town and Country convience stores, TMC bus company, and the Roswell Rehabilitation Center where she was a CNA for several years. She also worked at Pollard’s bus company and was a joy in the lives of the elderly as a private care giver. Ginger was a joy in the lives of every one who knew her. She was a caring, loving, giving person who always thought of others before herself. She will be greatly loved and missed by all whose paths she crossed, especially her family and friends. Ginger’s church family at Mt. View Baptist were very special to her and she, as well as her family, would like to give great thanks to them for all the love and support they gave to her and her family before, during and after her illness. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Baptist Church, 206 East Charleston, on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 6:00 o’clock p.m. with Terry Johnson II and J. D. Aken officiating.
