Funeral services for Willie M. Lee will be held at 10 am Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Sons officiating. Willie passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at his home. Willie was born on June 24, 1933 in Stanton, Texas to Marion Cleo Lee and Jessie Alice Duncan. He and Daphine Edwards were married on March 1, 1952 in Clovis, NM. She survives him at the family home. Willie passed away at home with the loving care of his wife and son. He was a loving father, grandfather and had many friends. Willie was always the boss and people listened. He loved playing practical jokes and could do anything he set his mind to. After retiring from Mountain Bell Telephone Company, he enjoyed working with computers and radio controlled airplanes. He designed “The Little Lightning” radio controlled airplane that is still being produced today in San Antonio, TX. When his body gave out his mind was as sharp as a tack. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife Daphine, Willie is survived by one son; Larry Lee of Roswell, one daughter; Karen Lightfoot and her husband Barry of Odessa, TX, one daughter in law Vickie Lee of Dexter, three grandsons; Chad Lee and his wife Leslie, Jared Lightfoot and his wife Melissa, and Dustan Lightfoot, four granddaughters; Shannon Hickey and her husband Kyle, Denise Holcomb, Leatha Deyle and Cassie Lee, four great-grandsons, three sisters; Pearl Evans and her husband Jim of Roswell, Louise Barnet of Belen, NM, Grace Hoosier of San Diego, CA, Louis Lee and his wife Darlene, Ray Lee and his wife Janice all of Herford, TX, two sisters-in-law; Viola Fickling and her husband Tommy of Clovis, Yvetta Broom and her husband Jack, of Amarillo, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Willie is preceded in death by his parents; Cleo and Jessie Lee, one son; Vernon Ray Lee, one sister; Billie Johnson and one brother; Daryl Lee.
