Zariya Sheriff

Marcelina Herrera and Christopher Sheriff gave birth to a beautiful baby girl May 20,2007 in Roswell, New Mexico at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Zariya Monique Sheriff gained her wings October 24, 2023 at the age of 16. She is the middle child of 4 siblings, Jazmen Sheriff , Traviathan Sheriff & Essince Anaya. Zariya was also blessed with a baby niece Analycia Herrera. Zariya is a proud Roswell High Coyote. Zariya had always wanted to learn how to fix cars. So she had chose an automotive class as a elective in school. Zariya loves to make people laugh and smile so she signed up for Big Brothers & Sisters and a proud participant of the Gear Up program there at Roswell High School. Zariya enjoyed attending church on the move as a Christian with her sister Jazmen. A rosary is scheduled for Sunday, November 12th at 6pm at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Christ’s Church, 2200 N. Sycamore Avenue on Tuesday, November 14th at 12:00pm. Zariya loved to hang out with her niece Analycia, her best friends Neveah Santana Gonzales, Maya Idalia Madrid ,Delilah Nevaeh Mitchell, and her siblings Jazmen, Essince and brother Traviathen, and the family she is close too . Zariya loves to sing, dance, especially with her mom, go camping, taking pictures, especially selfies with her friends and family. She especially loved to watch her brother play football. You always knew she was there. You could hear her cheering her brother and the team on. Zariya will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Zariah are her mother Marcelina Herrera, Father Christopher Sheriff, older sister Jazmen Sheriff, younger brother Traviathen Sheriff, and older sister Essince Anaya, Santiago Herrera, Sheila Rodriguez, Blacita Herrera, Christina Jimenez Herrera, Ermelinda Wylie, Reyes Herrera, Lorenzo Herrera and his wife Carol, Nando Herrera, Rosendo Gamboa and his wife Monica Gamboa, Lela Garcia, Abraham Gamboa, and Alfonso Gamboa and his wife Nichole Gamboa and numerous cousins. Zariya Monique Sheriff Herrera is preceded and death by her grandma Rachel G. Herrera, her Great Tio Willie Nunez, Tio Francisco Herrera, Grandpa Francisco Herrera, Great Grandpa Reyes Herrera , Great Grandma Amelia Herrera, Great Grandpa Abraham Gamboa, Great Grandma Helen Gamboa, Cousin Andrez Aguilar “Bubba”, Adalina Aguilar “Nina”, Xavier Herrera, Nicholas Aguilar, Felicia Alarcon, Corrine Gamboa, and Patricia Franco Remember Me Don’t remember me with sadness, Don’t remember me with tears, Remember all the laughter, We’ve shared throughout the years. Now I am contented. That my life it was worthwhile, Knowing that I passed along the way. I made somebody smile. When you are walking down the street And you’ve got me on your mind, I’m walking in your footsteps, Only half a step behind. So please don’t be unhappy. Just because I’m out of sight, Remember that I’m with you, Each morning, noon, and night. We want to give thanks to the person that paid for all three funeral services, that was a blessing and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We would also like to thank everybody who donated , who helped raise money. Jeff for letting us use the hall, the church, the pastor, thank you to everybody for all your support it’s amazing that the kids brought the community together in this time of need, but we would like to give a big thank you to everybody who gave their 100% trying to save their lives. We greatly appreciate the effort you put in. We love you Z , Nina, and bubba. My mind still talks to you , my heart still looks for you, but my soul knows your at peace
