Christopher Eric Vigil, 50, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM. Please take a moment to share a kind thought or memory with Christopher’s family at www.andersonbethany.com. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Noblin Funeral Home in Belen, NM. There will be a Viewing from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Rio Communities Moose Lodge 2550, 306 Rio Communities Blvd, Rio Communities, NM 87002. There will be additional Services on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, 2609 S. Main St., Roswell, NM, 88203, with a Viewing to take place between 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a Funeral Service to start at 11 a.m. Interment will be at 12 p.m. at McBride Cemetery. There will be a Reception to follow at 2 p.m. at American Legion Post 28, 1620 N. Montana Ave, Roswell, NM 88201. Christopher Eric Vigil was born on February 23, 1974, to Eddy & Linda Vigil. He resided in Belen, NM. He left on his flight to heaven on June 17, 2024. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Christopher carried many names: Babe, Chris, Christopher, Sarge, Mijo and Papa Chris. He was a blessing and was tremendously loved. He was “talented, smart, fun, what didn’t he know?” He loved spending time with the family on holidays and BBQs. He enjoyed music and of course, the Dallas Cowboys. Some of his favorite things to do were hunting with his brother and nephews and visiting his sisters, nephews and nieces. He loved teaching the grandkids how to work with tools, build things, work on cars, the list goes on and on. Christopher will be loved and missed forever. Our hearts are shattered. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents: Eddy and Linda Vigil. Surviving Christopher is his brother, Paul (wife April Vigil), his sister, Pamela (husband Manuel Marin), his sister, Sophia (husband Javier Garcia); 4 children: Issaiah Sosa Vigil, Noah Marquez Vigil, Neives Marquez Vigil and Madalyne Vigil; 4 grandchildren: Roman Sosa Vigil, Noah Sosa Vigil, Nasario Marquez Vigil and Nathaniel Marquez Vigil. He is also survived by his partner, Lisa August; mother-in-law, Rachel August; sister-in-law, Annette (husband Ken Sandlin); sister-in-law, Tina (husband Joseph Trujillo); stepchildren: Melissa (husband Byron Akin), Jackie (husband Rudy Aragon), Robin (husband Oscar Acosta), Patrick (wife Anna Rael); step grandchildren: Briana, Jeremiah, Candice, Josh, Natalie, Jose, Jeremy, Samuel, Logan, Breanna, Yanely, Hunter, Noah, Daniel and Xiclaly; 2 great-grandsons: Jayce and Bryson; nephews and nieces: Jeramiah Vigil, Julian (wife Tania Vigil), Dayja Pichardo, Anastasia Pichardo, Fabian Vigil, Paul Vigil Jr, Javier Garcia Jr, Anika Vigil, Mariah Vigil, Nathan Garcia, Joshua Garcia and Jonathan Garcia; and many more nieces, nephews and many friends. Pallbearers are his nephews: Jeramiah Vigil, Julian Vigil, Fabian Vigil, Paul Vigil Jr, Javier Garcia Jr, and Nathan Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Melissa, Byron, Jackie, Rudy, Robin, Oscar, Patrick, Anna, Briana, Jeremiah, Candice, Josh, Natalie, Jose, Jeremy, Samuel, Logan, Yanely, Breanna, Hunter, Noah, Jayce, Bryson, Xiclaly, Daniel, Ryan and Sean. A special thank you to Stephanie Herkenhoff. The family would also like to thank those who kept Chris in prayer, and to the many family and friends who have contributed during this difficult time.
