There will be a viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021. A graveside service will be held at South Park Cemetery on Monday, May 24, 2021, at 11:00 AM. On June 1, 1940, Jo Nell was born in Deming, NM, to Joe (Elmo) Ellis and Dorothy Green Ellis. She was raised in Deming, NM, where she was a car-hop and a telephone operator. She had 4 sisters: Lucille, Dorothy, Sheri and Barbara; and two brothers: Wayne and Curt. Jo Nell was married for 57 years to Orvil Wilson (retired from the phone company) in 1964. They moved to Roswell, NM, in 1970. Jo Nell was a devoted community member and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she lovingly served and taught. She was an amazing cake decorator, enjoyed being a seamstress, a painter and loved traveling. Jo Nell enjoyed learning and teaching fused glass classes at the Roswell Adult Center for 20 years. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends. She is survived by her husband, Orvil Wilson; their sons: Dr. Joe R. Wilson D.D.S. and wife Robin, and Curtiss Lee Wilson (US Forest Service); three grandchildren: Chelsea Luing and husband Jason, Morgan Wilson, and Chase Wilson and wife Brianna; sisters: Lucille Wilton and Sheri Gumfory; and her brother, Wayne Cardell and wife Martha Ann. Jo Nell had a strong testimony of the Gospel and of her Savior. She was well known for her service and friendship. Jo Nell was a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. We will miss you.
