Luis Carlos Bravo

Luis C. Bravo, 54, left this world hand in hand, with his Lord and Savior and passed away peacefully surrounded by his mother, Ofelia, and sister, Juana. He passed away at University Medical Center in Lubbock on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Luis was born on May 17, 1966, in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ofelia Bravo. Luis was extremely loving, caring, and giving to all. His girls remember the man that took them everywhere. He was a type of man that would pull over to help a stranger in need, that would give you his last $5, even if it’s all he had left. Luis was also a very forgiving man; when he would disagree with someone, he would easily forgive them and talk to them the very next day. He always wore a smile, and it was a smile from ear to ear. Luis was very social, and there weren’t very many people he didn’t know as a stranger and would talk to you as if he knew you for a lifetime. Luis graduated from Roswell High School in 1984; right after, he proceeded his work career as a diligent worker and was a man of many trades. He worked for Air Gas, Coca Cola Enterprises, Automatic Vending, Wakefield Oil, and 5C Construction. Luis enjoyed spending his past time being with his family at family gatherings and playing in athletics such as softball, football, and basketball. He was very athletic and competitive. His favorite team in the NBA were the Lakers and in the NFL were the Pittsburg Steelers. Mark “Marky” Villa was Luis’s best friend since their childhood years. Mark was his best man in his wedding. When Luis needed a friend to talk to, Mark was there to listen. The girls always remember growing up, Mark and Luis were always joking around, making fun of each other all the time like schoolboys. They had a special friendship and bond that will never be forgotten. Luis also had a special relationship with his mother-in-law, Rufina Sosa, who she referred her to as “Moms.” No matter what he did, she welcomed him with open arms. She referred to Luis as her own son. Those left to cherish Luis’s memory are his daughters: Angela Collier and husband Justin, Ashley Bravo and Nahum Saenz; grandchildren: Xavien, Nevaeh, Sariah, and Derek; mother, Ofelia Bravo; brothers: Jose Bravo and wife Lupe, Refugio “Cookie” Flores, Ramon Bravo; sisters; Delfina Arias and Juana Bravo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceding Luis in death are his grandmother, Margarita Patricio Bravo; brother, Lorenzo Flores; uncle, Luis Bravo; cousin, Margarita Bravo; and his mother-in-law, Rufina Sosa. Luis will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and he will forever be in our hearts. Luis’s mother, Ofelia, and sister, Juana, would like to give a special thanks to Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute in Lubbock, Texas. Mary, Sam, and Amber loved and cared so deeply for Luis. Your significant support in the past five years of Luis’s life will always be remembered, and we thank you again for being there during this difficult time. Pallbearers will be Jose Bravo, Refugio “Cookie” Flores, Ramon Bravo, Derek Bravo, Jose Jr. Bravo and Mark Villa. Honorary pallbearers will be his four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. All services will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. There will be a Viewing on Thursday, June 4, 2020, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Also, to celebrate Luis’s life, a Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Tim Aguilar of Church on the Move on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
