Maria Ynez Lucero, 60, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Roswell, New Mexico. Services: A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11:00 AM. On January 17, 1959, Maria was born to Joseph Griego Lucero and Maria Ramos in Lubbock, Texas. Ynez was a very unique woman, always making the best out of any situation, finding humor even in the most serious situations. She was very giving, even if it was recycled. Ynez loved her family and life. She lived life to the fullest and didn’t give a hoot about who approved and had no problem expressing her thoughts. Maria will be truly missed by all those whose life she impacted. Her legacy will live on. “Fly high mom, pain and worry-free.” Survivors: Those left to cherish Maria’s memory are her life long campanion, Ernie Giron; only living child and baby girl, Renee Ramos; the loves of her life, grandchildren: Alyxandra Flora-Marie Gonzalez and Robert Anthony Gonzalez; great-grandchildren: Jeremiah Lynn Ribble and Sylint Alicieo Gonzalez, and two extra blessings, Isiah Serna and Josiah Serna; sisters: Joann Otero and husband John, Patricia Garcia, Marylou Vasquez, Maggie Hernandez and husband Tony, Cynthia Lucero, Lisa Lucero, Esther Aguilar, Janie Mata and husband Jimmy, Annette Castillo; brothers: Eddie Lucero and wife Adriana, Gregg Lucero, Adam Perez, Carlos Castillo and wife Lydia; a very special aunt, Sophia Castillo, who raised her; uncle, Roy “Pocha” Ramos and wife Denise; aunts: Esther “Tere” Salazar, Carlota Carillo; numerous nieces and nephews, a handful of “special one’s,” you know who you are, “wink wink”; and “Puppy,” who will miss her warm homemade food. Preceded: Preceding Maria in death were her twin daughters, Monica Marie, and Veronica Marie Ramos; parents, Joseph Griego and Maria Ramos Lucero; grandparents: Pedro and Maria Ramos, Isidro and Filomena Lucero, Angelita (Angie) Arguilo; special great-niece, Aryssa Lucero; nephew, Brandon Lucero, brother-in-law, Mark Vasquez; and niece, Angel Vale.
