Maria S. Vasquez, 85, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Services are under the direction of Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Maria S. There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to take place at 6 p.m. There will be a Funeral Mass that will be held at St. John’s Church on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Father Abel officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On April 22, 1939, Maria was born to Jose and Anna Marie Cobos in Presidio, TX. She married Reynaldo M. Vasquez Sr. in 1960 in Roswell, NM. She received her CPR Certificate assisting with AWMD, an accomplishment she was very proud of having with no prior formal education. She was a devoted foster parent for several years, and she did private home care. Maria had a big heart and cared for so many, and that showed through the care she provided to people. Maria’s favorite pastime was watching her soap opera shows. She had many hobbies including singing, dancing, planting flowers, playing the piano, guitar, accordion, harmonica, and she also enjoyed hanging out with her friends. Maria will be missed by her family and friends. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Maria are her children: daughter, Olga Acosta and her family: fiancé, Ralph Morones, grandchild, Crystal (Daniel Montes), great-grandkids, Isaiah, Gabriel Mendoza, Savannah, Andrew, Meranda, Kaylea Diaz, great grandchild, Iyla Mendoza, grandchild, Philip (Suzie Acosta), great grandchildren, Jesse Ray (Alyssa), Dasiah, Michael Paul Acosta, Alexandra (JP) Herrera, Gage Haner, Manuel, Raymond Sedillo, Aaliyah Reese, great-great grandchildren Zarijah, Noah, Emberley, Josiahs, Ava, Ace, Julian, Christoper, and grandchild, April (David) Barela, and great grandchildren, Jaime Lopez, Alyssa, Jesus, Jacob, Aubrey Garcia, and Gavin Barela; daughter, Rosie B. Gutierrez and her family: husband, Cecilio Guiterrez and their kids, Joshua Ray Buenrostro and his son Adlai Ray Ogas, Adrianna and Mike Sedillo and their kids Annalicia, Micheal, and Aubrielle Sedillo, Brianna Garcia and her kids Carlos Ray and Ronnie Reynoldo Montoya, Frankie R. Garcia and Destiny Villa, great grandchild; Saint A. Garcia; daughter, Terry Cobos Vasquez, and her son Micheal Ray Soto, son; Stevie Cobos, and his children, Aliah Rodriguez, Joziah Meza, and Alana Lavato; her son, Ray Vasquez’s surviving family: grandson, Ray Vasquez II, great grand kids, Heaven, Reyna, Yasmine, Melissa, Addyson Vasquez; bonus children: Stacey Freman (Yvette) and their kids; Patricia Washington and her kids. ; her siblings: Lucy Cobos and husband Gilbert and Linda Cobos and husband Rudolph; Nieces and Nephews: Monica Rodriguez, Elva Duarte, Lilly Cobos, Gilbert Martinez, Rudy Cobos, and Vincent Cobos and a special friend: Janie Cortez. Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo M. Vasquez Sr; son, Reynaldo J. Vasquez Jr. II; grandchild, Micheal Paul Acosta, parents: Jose and Anna Maria Cobos; grandparents: Leonore Rodriguez and husband; sister, Elva Martinez; brothers: Jesus Cobos, Oscar Hernandez; and nephew, Orlando Martinez. Her special friends: Connie Alfaro and Maria Galindo. PALLBEARERS: Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Phillip Ray Acosta, Ray Vasquez III, Micheal-Ray Soto, Joshua Ray Buenrostro, Frankie Garcia, and Aliah Rodriguez.
