Alice Bachicha

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Alicia (Alice) Bachicha passed away peacefully at home in Roswell, NM on August 17, 2024, at the age of 76 years old. Alice was born in Pecos, TX on February 11, 1948, to Fadrique and Severa Saenz. Alice is preceded in death by her parents Fadrique and Severa Saenz, her brothers Eloy Saenz, Fadrique Saenz, Jr., Efrian Saenz, Armando Saenz, and her sister Socorro Barton. Alice is survived by her husband Esperidon “Steve” Bachicha, daughter Rachel Saenz and her husband Armando Lucero, son Rick Saenz and his wife Maryann, sons Michael Bachicha and Felipe Bachicha and his girlfriend Angela Hood. Her grandsons Jonathan and Evan Ledbetter, Aaron Bachicha, Ryan and Ethan Saenz. Alice is also survived by her two beautiful granddaughters Regan and Lauryn Saenz. Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Memaw”. Alice is also survived by her sisters Carol Machuca of San Angelo, TX., Cathy and her husband Ronnie Martinez, Elisama and her husband Robert Garcia, Elia McKinley and Olivia Saenz all from Roswell, New Mexico. Her brother Raul and his wife Natie Saenz of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and her brother Oscar Saenz also from Roswell, New Mexico. On October 15, 1976, she married Esperidon “Steve” Bachicha Jr., in Roswell, NM. Together they raised four children. In the early 70’s she worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary’s Hospital and went on to work and retire from the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center. Alice enjoyed traveling with her family, she enjoyed camping at Silver Lake in Mescalero, New Mexico, spending time with her grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Alice was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Roswell, New Mexico for many years. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday August 22, 2024. Services will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024. Interment will follow at the Gen. Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery in Roswell, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be: Rick Saenz, Michael Bachicha, Felipe Bachicha, Jonathan Ledbetter, Aaron Bachicha, Evan Ledbetter, Ryan Saenz and Ethan Saenz. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Armando Lucero, Dionicio Romero, Carol Benavidez, Mike Serna, Frank Barton, Sarah Barton, and Samantha Barton and all of her numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Nurse Kelly at Lovelace Westside Hospital, in Albuquerque, NM, Cousin Carol Benavidez, Mike Serna and nephew Dionicio Romero for all the help and love they provided while she was in Albuquerque. Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for all these things are gone forever.”
