Benjamin Garcia

A prayer service will be held for Benjamin “Benny” Garcia, 52, of Roswell at 7 pm Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be at 10 am on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at Church on the Move with Pastor Troy Smothermon officiating. Burial to follow in South Park Cemetery. Benjamin passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 in Lubbock, TX. Benjamin was born March 9, 1960 to Elfin Garcia and Mary Barrera Garcia in Roswell, NM. He was a life- long resident of Roswell attended the Roswell Schools and graduated from Roswell High and worked for Pepsi Cola Company. Benny loved to hunt, fish and build low rider bikes. He enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts and spending time with his family and friends. Benjamin is survived by his son, Alex Garcia of Roswell; his estranged wife, Sherry Garcia of Ruidoso, NM; his mother, Mary Garcia of Roswell; his sisters, Gloria Sedillo of Roswell; Beatrice Medrano of Roswell; Betty Gamboa and her husband, Alfred of Roswell; Sally Bara of Muleshoe, TX; Eva Villarreal and her husband, Pete of Roswell ; Esther Garcia of Roswell and his brother, Frank Garcia and his wife, Denna of Roswell; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Elfin Garcia, his brother, Junior Garcia and his sister, Angie Garcia. Pallbearers will be Alex Garcia, Frank Garcia, Isaac Molinar, Larry Dutchover, Ray Montoya and Mondo Garcia. Honorary pallbearer will be Arthur Marquez. We will be receiving family and friends at 711 N. Greenwood Ave. Flannel jacket, always so cold yet so warm hearted with such A loving soul! Alex was the apple of his eye“son never feel alone” look up to the sky Daddy raised you right- I promise that one day we will reunite when the time is right. Benny love to live and lived to be loyal! Don’t be sad it’s just my body in the soil. He always had a plan and never liked to fight, any doe or deer in sight would be his dinner that night. He loved his nephews he taught them to take a stand. In return, let’s promise to him to always strive to be a better man. In the last days before he passed, his sister Esther promised to stay by his side, so each day and each night she never left his bed side. On October 17th my Tio’s life on earth ended but it touches my heart to let you all know his eternal life is just begun.
