Charles Isaacs

Funeral services for Charles Isaacs, 57, of Roswell, will be held at 10am, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Anderson -Bethany Funeral Chapel with Adam Soliz and Albert Ortega officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Charles passed away at home on March 9, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2012 from 8 am – 8 pm at the funeral home. Charles was born in Paxton, Illinois on February 26, 1955 to John B and Evelyn Arnold Isaacs and moved to Roswell at the age of 9. He married Susan M. Castillo on August 24, 1977 and they raised four children. Charles worked on ranches north of Roswell and after marrying Susan he worked various jobs. Together, they owned and operated Isaacs Salvage and Recycling and Little Chicken Custom Pickin, and Custom Harvesting with the largest crew in Southeast, New Mexico. After retiring due to numerous injuries, Charles volunteered at Mountain View Middle School for two years and at University High in the nursery where he was known as “Grandpa”. He served as the Assistant Pastor for the Youth Challenge for two cycles.He was a loving person that was friends with everyone he met. His wife, children and grandchildren were everything to him. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. Charles is survived by his wife Susan Isaacs of 34 years; sons, John Isaacs Sr. and wife Angela and Andrew Isaacs; daughters, Sarah Isaacs, Connie Marie Gutierrez and husband Gerard, all of Roswell; grandchildren, Monique Isaacs, Alison Ochoa, Aunica Isaacs, John Isaacs, Jr., Breanna Gonzales, Destany Gonzales, Santiyano Gonzales, Armando Gonzales, and Marisa Martinez all of Roswell; brother, Ronnie Isaacs of Roswell; sister, Nancy Davis and husband Charles of Texas; mother, Evelyn Evans of Roswell; mother-in-law, Connie Castillo of Roswell; brother-in-law Tommy Castillo and wife Suzanne of Roswell; sister-in-law, Vera Vigil and husband Manuel of Skandia, MI and sister-in-law Niomi Castillo of Roswell. He was preceded in death by his father, John B. Isaacs, grand-father; Charles Arnold; stepfather, John B. Evans; grandmother, Irene Arnold and his father-in-law Joe M. Castillo, whom was very special to him. Those serving as pallbearers are John Isaacs, Sr., Andrew Isaacs, Gerard Gutierrez, James Ortega, Albert Ortega, Ted Gonzales, Ray Gonzales and George Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Sarah Isaacs, Connie Marie Gutierrez, Arthur Ortega, Steve Ortega, Ronnie Isaacs, Connie Castillo, Leslie Castillo, Joey Castillo, Roy Fuentes , Marisa Martinez, Monique Isaacs, Jasmine Hernandez, Mercedes Hernandez, Amber Castillo, Justin Patty, Darlene and Albert Parra.
