Concepcion Rogers

Beloved mother, Concepcion “Chita” Rogers, 86, of Roswell, New Mexico, joined our Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2016, surrounded by love ones. She was born in Queretaro, Mexico, on August 10, 1930, to Jose Trinidad de la Vega and Josefina Huerta de la Vega. Chita married the love of her life, Albert Rogers, October 24, 1951, in Zaragoza, Puebla, Mexico. They were married fifty-four years until his passing in 2005. They renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary at Assumption Catholic Church, in Roswell, NM. Church was very vital to Chita. She attended Catholic school and Church regularly. Chita loved her family and devoted her life to them. A very special time for her was Sunday dinners with family and friends, she was a very good cook, as anyone would tell you. She loved cooking and entertaining. An excellent seamstress and knitter, she could fix anything. Staying current in all aspects of life were important to Chita, she kept up with current events, always reading, trying to stay up-to-date with the world and politics. She also liked to watch world soccer and novelas. She was very fashionable and had good taste in clothing. Nothing pleased her more than to take a nice drive and enjoy the scenery with those she loved. Chita lived a very satisfying life with lots of love. She, as we all do, had ups and downs in her life, but one event upset her more than any other, which was the loss of her son, Peter Rogers. She never imagined one of her children would pass before her. Through this, she suffered immensely. Preceding Chita in death were her husband, parents, son, and all brothers and sisters. Those honored to carry on Chita’s heritage are daughters: Narda and Patricia of Roswell, NM, and Jackie and her husband, Rusty of Nashville, TN; son, Carlos of Roswell, NM; sister and brother-in-law, Ann Sauskis and Bill of Roswell, NM; sister-in-law, Emma Savedra of Tinnie, NM and numerous nieces and nephews and very special nieces: Carmelina de la Vega of Puebla, Mexico, and Alexandra Benitez de la Vega of Canada. A Rosary will be recited Friday, September 2, 2016, 1:30 PM at Assumption Catholic Church with a Mass celebration to follow at 2:00 PM. Father Josh Duplissey will officiate.
