Daniel Zangara

Daniel “Danny” Scott Zangara, 59, went to eternal life with our savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 18, 2019, after a brief illness, but a long and courageous battle with other health issues. Preceded: Danny was preceded in his journey to Heaven by his father, Jerry Zangara, and mother, Earlene Clark. Survivors: Surviving to cherish Danny’s memory are Earlene's husband of forty-two years, Don Clark, who served as a devoted and loving Father, not only to Danny, but to Danny's surviving brothers and their spouses: Ken Zangara and Kathy, Kevin Zangara and Alice, and Jim Zangara and Toby; and a sister, Chandra Clark Camp and husband Andrew; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, who all loved their Uncle Danny. Danny enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with many of his family members in Albuquerque in 2018. He was born on August 15, 1959, in Roswell, NM, and lived his entire life in Roswell. Although Danny was born with Cerebral Palsy, had diabetes, and many other problems, he made the best out of everything he did. For instance, he graduated from Roswell High School, worked as a greeter for many years at Kmart, participated in the Special Olympics, actively was involved in his community, and even ran for the Roswell City Council in the 1980s. Danny lost by four hundred and fifty-eight votes, but it wasn't for lack of hard work. He was an inspiration to all that knew him because of his positive attitude, upbeat personality, and most of all, his strong faith in God and humanity. Danny's surviving family are incredibly grateful for all of his caretakers at Tobosa Developmental Services in Roswell and to all the medical professionals who worked so diligently with him. Danny taught all of us many things including, how always to keep a good attitude and try hard no matter what life throws at you, and how tough it can be. He taught us love and tolerance for all of God's children. He taught us to forgive because we all are forgiven. He knew the importance of asking for forgiveness, not only of others but most importantly, of the Lord God. Danny loved Jesus and was a member of Grace Community Church, 935 West Mescalero, Roswell, NM, where his services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 10:00 AM, with Senior Pastor Rick Hale officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tobosa Developmental Services Program, in Roswell, New Mexico, or the Special Olympics of New Mexico.
