Delia Lucero

With great sadness, the family of Delia Lucero, 100, announces her passing on December 11, 2016. She was born in Lincoln, New Mexico on April 1, 1916. A life well-lived, Delia volunteered for the Joy Center for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Denise, Rick, and Greg Who cared for her for many years; and special granddaughter Talyssa Espinoza who was very dear to Delia. She was Delia’s right hand, who always helped ‘Gram’ with anything. Delia is preceded in death by son, Joe Steven Montoya, parents: Adonio R Montoya and Antonia Vigil Montoya; brothers: Claudio Montoya, Elfego Montoya, Ben Montoya, Tony Montoya; sisters: Rosa Montoya, Mary M Sanchez, Chonita Chavez, Vera M Sanchez and Flora Sanchez. Surviving to cherish Delia’s memory are sister, Cleo M Vargas; son, Fernando Montoya of Arizona; daughter-in-law, Ida Montoya; grandsons: Greg Montoya and partner, Monica Gonzalez, Denise Espinoza and husband, Rick Espinoza of Roswell, Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Montoya of California, Arnold Montoya of Arizona; granddaughters:, Cherri Montoya of Arizona; and 7 great-grandchildren. A special Thanks to and Sally Juarez For being there in times of need. A Mass Celebration will be Friday, December 16, 2016, 10:00 AM at St John the Baptist Catholic Church. When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; and said my place was ready. In Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. But when I walked through Heavens Gates I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me “Welcome Home.” So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we are far apart, for every time you think of me,I’m right there in your heart.
