Dennis Lashinsky

Dr. Dennis R. Lashinsky, a Roswell resident and a longtime practitioner of general medicine, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. He was 62. Dr. Lashinsky was born in New York City, NY, to the late Jack and Judy Lashinsky of Viola, PA. He graduated from Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg, PA. He continued his education and received his Chiropractic Degree from Lincoln Memorial College and a Doctorate of Medicine Degree. Dr. Lashinsky completed his residency training in Monroeville, PA. After completing his residency, he worked for Clearfield Hospital for several years. He later transferred to the Veterans Administration and worked as a physician in both Cumberland, MD and Artesia, NM. In 1999, Dr. Lashinsky went into private practice and opened the Choice Medical Clinic in Roswell, NM. His remarkable staff allowed him to pursue his passion for providing care for those in need. Dr. Lashinsky supported numerous local community events and activities. He sponsored several youth programs including little league, pee-wee football, and high school cheerleading. He was also a member of the American Medical Association and Masonic Lodge 643 Indianapolis, IN. This brilliant, dedicated physician is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Kristine and husband Russell Christoff of Philipsburg, son, John of State College, and son, Mike and wife, Lisa of Alaska; step-children Jeff and wife, Carla Reitz, Jason Reitz, Todd Reitz, Kris Reitz and Matthew Reitz, brother, Doug; sister, Darlene and husband Ed Holobinko and sister, DeAnne; grandchildren, Katlyn,Alyson, Alisha, Brady, Renin, Lucy, Auggie, Russell, and Madeleine; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dr. Lashinsky will forever be remembered for his untiring commitment to help others. He was extremely thoughtful and cared deeply for everyone he knew. He was an avid reader, gardener, automotive enthusiast, movie and music buff. Above all, Dr. Lashinsky was a man who truly loved life and the people who shared it with him. He will be greatly missed. A public viewing will be held from 12 pm to 8 pm on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. This service will be open to the public.
