Earl "Mack" Tague

Earl “Mack” Tague, 81, passed away on January 27, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Services to be held at Grace Community Church, 935 W Mescalero, Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM, reception to follow at 120 W Jaffa. Earl was born November 22, 1936, in Culbertson, Nebraska, and raised in Gallatin, Missouri. He joined the Navy in March of 1955, and retired in September of 1974, as a Chief Petty Officer, qualified instructor in submarine training and a qualified sonar operator. He was awarded the Good Conduct 5th Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, China Services Campaign Medal and National Defense Services Medal. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and commander for two years at Post #322. After retirement, he sold and repaired RV’s followed by campground hosting for ten years. He is survived by his wife, Velma; children: Tracy Weidmann (Thilo), Maggie Harvey (Mike), Treva Spriggs (Del), Troy Brackeen (Ramona), Eric Brackeen (Lisa), Mark Brackeen (Tedi); grandchildren: Justin (Filomena), Alex (Cesiah), Tori Weidmann, Kyle (Crystal) and Chance (Christa) Harvey, Chris Shipman, Heather Jones, Sabrina Rummler (Jorg) Jesse Trujillo, Jonathan, Sean, Luke, Jacob Brackeen, Grayson Freeborn, Kyra Cash (Cody), Bubba Gross, Jordan Hamilton; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved. Preceded in death by his parents: William Earl and Gladys; siblings: Bill, Suzanne, Rita; two sons: Thomas Lawrence and Mark David; two grandsons: Drew and Michael; and one great-grandson. To Those I Love – While I am gone just release me, let me go – so I can move into my afterglow. You mustn't tie me down with your tears; let’s be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love; you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust. It's only a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home."
