Eduardo "Eddy" Vigil

Eddy Vigil, reunited with his beloved wife, Linda on Friday, June 22, 2018. Eddy was born on March 6, 1950, to Benancio and Sofie Vigil. He was a member of the US Army and served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. Upon his return, Eddy married the love of his life, Linda and shared forty-four wonderful years together. Eddy was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA). He enjoyed watching football and was a Dallas Cowboy fanatic. Trophies fill the family home of his talented skills in horseshoe pitching. Eddie also enjoyed deer hunting with his sons and grandsons. The garage was where Eddy spent most of his time creating new inventions or fixing things. He took great pride in maintaining his yard and the upkeep of his car. Preceding Eddy in death were his loving and devoted wife, Linda Vigil; his parents: Benancio and Sofie Vigil; brothers: Richard Vigil, Jimmy Vigil; sisters: Lucille Lueras, Mabel Rubio, Lydia Dutchover and Dora Vigil. Those surviving to cherish Eddy’s memory are his children: Christopher Vigil and Lisa, Paul Vigil and wife, April, Pamela Vigil and Manuel, Sophia Garcia and husband, Javier; sixteen grandchildren: Issaiah Sosa Vigil, Jeramiah Vigil, Dayja Pichardo, Nieves Marquez Vigil, Julian Vigil, Noah Marquez Vigil, Mariah Vigil, Anastasia Pichardo, Fabian Vigil, Paul Vigil Jr., Javier Garcia Jr., Madalyne Vigil, Anika Vigil, Nathan Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Jonathan Garcia; great-grandchildren: Roman Sosa Vigil, Nasario Marquez Vigil; and one step-grandchild, Elissa Garcia, all of whom he loved and cherished dearly. Also surviving Eddy are his brothers and sisters: Bobby Vigil and wife, Carmen, Ben Vigil Jr. and wife, Flora, Ruby Hernandez and husband, Lupe, Juanita Quiroz, Sylvia Salcido; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He also left behind his three German Shepard’s: Brodie, Chispas, and Malo. There will be a Viewing on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A Funeral Service Honoring Eddy’s life is scheduled on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the General Douglas L. McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. Thereafter, a gathering will be held at the National Guard Armory. Honorary Pallbearers: Bobby Vigil, Simon Hernandez, Arthur Cobos, Manuel Cobos, Jerry Cobos, Garry Cobos and Billy Cobos. Pallbearers: Ben Vigil Jr., Paul Miranda, Javier Garcia, Manuel Marin, Jeramiah Vigil and Julian Vigil. The family would like to thank all those who kept our dad in prayer and to the many who contributed during this time.
