Edward (Eddie) Keith David Obituary Edward Keith David passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Eddie was honored with a Memorial Service, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Roswell, New Mexico where he has remained a dedicated member since 1967. Eddie was born on January 28, 1934, in Hebbronville, Texas. He married Nabeela Hassen David in 1959 and remained married to her until her passing in 2002. He is preceded in death by his parents: Leuin Lenor David and Hattie Garland David; his brother, Leuin Lenor (Junior) David and Mary David Hulme. Eddie is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Jamie Leslie Evans David of Roswell, New Mexico whom he married in 2004. Eddie has one surviving sibling, Shirley David Smith of Goliad, Texas. Surviving family members are his two children and their spouses, Camille David Hussey (Mathias Hussey) of Frisco, Texas and Edward Nabeel David (Ruth B. David) of Lubbock, Texas. as well as children Gregory Evans of Frisco, Texas, Michael Evans (Jo Evans) of Greenville, Texas and Brian Evans of Portland, Oregan. Eddie’s beloved grandchildren are Peyton David, Rachel Evans Dahir, Aaron Evans, Andrew Evans (Hailey Evans), Kirsten Evans, Lauryn Evans, Colin Evans and Carsten Evans. Eddie has one great grandchild, Olivia Dahir. Eddie’s nephews include Tom Johnson (Gail Johnson), Gary Smith, William (Billy) Fox (Ethel). Eddie grew up in Hebbronville, Texas and had an idyllic childhood which was a magical and fun childhood experienced by few. He had fabulous role models watching how his parents raised them, and he ensured his children had the best experiences like he did growing up. Eddie never met a stranger and on family vacations, the family always worried about gas station stops since that made their trip much longer while waiting while Eddie took the time to stop and get to know the gas station attendants while waiting for gas. Eddie always loved life stories of people who were struggling to work and make their life better and if he saw they had innate tenacity and drive, he would always give them unprecedented amounts of money letting them know he was impressed by their story and to keep reaching their goals. He had a passion and a vision for new conceptions of various pathways to fundraise. He also was incredible and talented in the creation of new creative events to raise funds for various groups. He was still planning these future events up until the time of his passing. Eddie graduated from San Marcos Baptist Academy in 1952. He graduated from Texas Tech University where he graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology with a minor in Mathematics. He began his career with Texaco as a Petroleum Geologist in Midland and Roswell. He became an independent Petroleum Geologist in 1966 and then started David Petroleum Corporation in 1980. He also partnered with the late Charles C. Loveless and the late Colin R. McMillan to form LDM Associates. He remained served as President of David Petroleum Corporation until his passing. Eddie’s numerous accomplishments included: Past President of the Board of First Federal Savings Bank Member of Roswell Rotary Club Past President of the Roswell Geological Association Past Chairman of the Southwest Section of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists convention Past Treasurer of the American of Petroleum Geologists Past President of the American Association of Petroleum geologists Board member of the Trustee Associates for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Established 2 scholarships in the Geo Science department at Texas Tech University Past Chairman of the Chaves County United Way Campaign Past President of the Chaves County United Way Board Past President of the Conquistador Council Boy Scouts of America Board Member of the Conquistador Council Boy Scouts of America Trust board Silver Beaver award for the Conquistador Council Boy Scouts of America Roswell citizen of the year Lifetime Achievement Award for the United Way of Chaves County Past President of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Board Chairman of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Committee Past Roswell Independent School Board member Raised several hundred thousand for scholarships Organized Patriot dinners to honor US service military men and women Dale Carnegie Course graduate Toastmasters The family is honored, (Eddie would be as well) to have the friends he cherished so much and loved to be his Pallbearers. They include Bill Owen, Dick Taylor, Segundo Armendariz, Jim Manatt, Jim Ball and Keith Karnes. The Honorary Pallbearers include Bill Hansen and Tim Parker.
