Gilbert Muse

A memorial service for Gilbert (John) Muse will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. John passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. John was born on November 1, 1953 to Frank “Pat” Muse and Mary Lillian Dixon Muse in Roswell, New Mexico. John is survived by his father, Frank; a brother, Joe Patrick Muse and his wife, Jeannie of Roswell; a nephew, Samuel Austin Muse and his wife, Amanda of Roswell; a niece, Pamela Audrey Meredith and her husband, Jake of Roswell; an uncle, Howard Dixon and his wife, Barbara of Ft. Sumner; three aunts, Blanche Muse of Portales, NM, Vivian Tarpley and her husband, Bruce of Many, LA and Willie Marie Woods of Clairmont, CA; and many of his Tobosa friends and family and a number of other relatives. The family wants to mention that John was very close to his two caretakers from Tobosa, Cori and Monica. John is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, two brothers, Jesse Austin and Jimmy Lavon Muse, and several aunts and uncles. John fell ill at an early age and remained that way the rest of his life. Tobosa made sure that he lived life to the fullest; they went above and beyond the requirements they had to meet. Tobosa saw to it that he became a member of the Red Coats, he enjoyed employment, and that he didn’t miss any of his TV programs which he really enjoyed especially “The Price is Right” and the “Golden Girls’. John even had the opportunity to go to California and meet Bob Barker. John had a great smile, loved blondes and holding hands with the people he cared for. The bible assures us, John is now resting and he is resting with a hope. The Old Testament is full of prophecy concerning the future of the earth and mankind. Jesus brought those wonderful promises into Christianity. During His sermon, on the Mount, when He said “the meek will inherit the earth”, he was quoting Psalms 37:11. When Peter recorded 2nd Peter 3:13, that Jesus told him there would be a new earth, (in other words, not a different earth, but a repaired earth with a new system and peoples), Jesus was bringing forth, a promise found at Isaiah 66:22. After Jesus went back to heaven, he promised this again in Revelations. At Mathew 19:28, when Jesus talked of the “regeneration”, or “renewed creation”, he brought forth all promises that John, in his resurrected life, will have no more illness and enjoy life on a perfect earth with no fear of pain, war or death. Job asked at Job 14:14, “if a man dies, will he live again?” The bible assures that through the efforts of Jesus, who is installed by Jehovah, John will indeed live again, but next time, in perfection.
