Hazel Eudy

Funeral services for Hazel R. Eudy, 74, are scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2008, 2:00 PM at Anderson-Bethany Chapel with Pastor Rick Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Hazel passed away on April 20, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She went to be with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her family. Hazel was born in Maryneal, Texas on May 26, 1933 to Walter and Beulah (Martin) Clements. On December 21, 1950 Hazel married the love of her life, Edwin Eudy. They spent 55 wonderful years together, bringing four children into the world. Hazel worked as a bartender at the Gay Nineties for many years before becoming a bookkeeper at Neeley-James Office Supply. She retired from there after twenty years to spend more time with her beloved husband. Hazel was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary, for more than thirty years, where she met many lifelong friends. She enjoyed going to the Eagles for dances and to play BINGO. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes and she played at several places around town. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family around the kitchen table. One of her greatest joys was being a grandma and great grandma; she was Nanny to everyone. Hazel is survived by her children: Marvin Eudy and his wife Diana, Martin Eudy, Susan James and her husband Gary, and her daughter in-law Virginia Eudy, all of Roswell. She is also survived by her sisters, Faye Edmiston, of Plainview TX, Margie Schroeder and her husband Harley, of Cloudcroft and her brother Freddie Clements of Roswell. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christy Snipes and her husband Bill, Tawnya Adams and her husband Jamie, Rhianna Shaw and her husband Boyd, of Elkhart KS, Michelle Taylor and her husband Kalup, Eddie Eudy and his wife Andrea, Jaclyn Creighton and her husband Randy, and Steven James. Hazel was also survived by her great grandchildren: Brittany Snipes, Anissa Gonzales, Trace Snipes, Camryn James, Wesley Adams, Georgia Eudy, Lane Creighton and numerous friends and relatives. Her parents, her husband Edwin Eudy, her son Gerald Eudy, and her grandson Dustin Eudy preceded her in death. Hazel will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother, Nanny and sister. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Services are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Tell me what lies on the other side.” Very quietly the doctor said, “I don’t know.” “You don’t know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?” The doctor was holding the handle of the door, on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, “Did you notice my dog? He’s never been in this room before. He did not know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing…I know my Master is there and that is enough.”
