Jerry D. Ridge

Jerry D. Ridge, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away at his home on Friday, February 2, 2018. He was a man of many interests, including family, cars, hunting, barbecuing and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Jerry was born on May 17, 1950, to Nona and R.L. Ridge in Roswell, NM, and lived in Roswell all his life. His career began at Ridge Body Shop working for his Dad, R. L., as a painter. Jerry and Dad were involved in car shows where he made a name for himself by winning many trophies at shows all over New Mexico. Years later, Jerry began a new career at Transwestern Pipeline where he achieved many goals and eventually became a Corrosion Engineer. He worked at Transwestern for years only recently retiring due to declining health. We know Jerry will be missed by his Transwestern Pipeline co-workers and friends he made there. He loved his job, and it was with great disappointment that Jerry could no longer be an active part of the team. Jerry was an avid hunter from an early age when his Dad used to take him deer hunting. That became a lifelong passion, which he enjoyed with his brother and best friend, Robert, and many other friends and family members. Then, Jerry bought his first Harley (Black Betty) and was forever after a Harley Man. Come on Brother, let’s go Away from the city, out of the flow Up to the mountain to play in the snow Maybe catch a falling star that flew too low Ride it thru the cosmos like an arrow shot from a bow Come on Brother, let’s go By: Robert Ridge, Jr. Surviving Jerry are his loving wife, Olivia; daughters: Jayme Ridge Tarin (Edgar), Elyce Ridge Arrieta (Bert); sister, Nancy Ridge Moorhead; brothers: Robert Ridge (Betty Jo), Patrick Ridge (Pam); granddaughters: Makenzie and Alayna Tarin; grandson, Alex Tarin; step-daughter, Irene Lucero; extended family including five nieces: Christy Hurst (Brian), Kazira Ridge, Aysia Pirtle (Cliff), Camra Ridge, Madison Ridge; one nephew, Jerrad Ridge (Jill); special Rottweiler, Zena, who will also miss him terribly; many great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding Jerry in death were his dad, Robert L. Ridge; mother, Nona Anderson Ridge, who we know were waiting with open loving arms as he passed over. He married Olivia Lozano on December 31, 2014, and was a very happy man. Jerry and Olivia only had three years together, but those years were filled with love and happiness. Jerry’s wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 11:00 AM.
