John "Bill" Frost

A memorial service for John William “Bill” Frost,79, of Roswell will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lindenberger officiating. John William (Bill) Frost, born January 7, 1931, passed away on July 27, 2010. Bill is survived by a loving family - wife Wanda, son John, grandchildren Mandy and Amy Bigbee, son-in-law Eddie Bigbee, adoring poodle April, and numerous friends. He lived a full life and filled the lives of those around him completely. He served his country in the military, lived throughout the United States and Brazil as an oilfield man, and spent the twilight of his life making a home for his family in Roswell. A family could not love or appreciate a husband, father, and Papa more. We are better people for having known him. We are rarely blessed to know people whose hearts compel them to always do what is right and just. Bill always strived to do the right thing. He never hesitated to help those who needed him and even those who just needed someone. He spent countless hours volunteering at retirement centers, caring for the elderly, and baking infamous pound cakes for bake sales. Mission Arch Care Center benefited from fifteen years of his volunteer service, including countless hours of decorating for the holidays with his donated items, building a memory garden, and caring for the needs of the residents. When not giving of himself, he was tending his garden, reading a western, or enjoying the slot machines in Ruidoso. Bill was a quiet man, but each word he spoke was profound and carried weight and meaning. Those of us who were blessed to listen will long to hear more for years to come. His strength of character and silent, selfless giving is what he will be remembered for, but his kind heart, pure spirit, and warm smile is what will be missed most. Bill has joined his daughter, Cecilia, in heaven - a truth that comforts his family, who now celebrate his life as they mourn the profound loss. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecilia Janette Bigbee, and two brothers, Harold Frost and Fred Frost.
