A rosary will be recited for Henry Garcia, 59, of Roswell, at 7 pm, Friday, August 28, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, August 29, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2009 from 8am to 5 pm. at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Henry passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Henry was born September 26, 1949 to Jose and Delfina Garcia in Sena, New Mexico. He and Dina were married on September 8, 1973, she survives him at the family home. Henry served the United States Army and had two seperate tours to Vietnam and was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. Henry was a very generous man who would stop and help anyone in need. He enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo and scratchers, but what he loved the most was spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, Dina, Henry is survived by one daughter; Sonia Franco and her husband Toby R., one son; Athanacio “Costa” Garcia and his companion Miranda Fuentes, one grandson; Xavier T. Garcia, one granddaughter; Athena Rae Franco all of Roswell, five brothers; Daniel Garcia and his wife Vangie of Texico, Isidro Garcia and his wife Margie of Moriarty, Armando Garcia and his wife Grace, Jerry Garcia and his wife Alice all of Las Cruces, Nick Garcia and his wife Cynthia of Roswell, two sisters; Betty Tucker and her husband Tom of Odessa, Dorothy Garcia of Roswell, numerous nieces and nephews. Henry is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Delfina Garcia and one niece, Michelle Garcia. Pallbearers will be Armando, Jerry, Nick, Isidro and Daniel Garcia, Steve Archuleta. Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Tucker, Dorothy Garcia, Javier Jaurez, Johnny Bartlett, and Carlos Sanchez.
