Jose "Pepe" Rayos Hernandez

Jose R “Pepe” Hernández, 61, of Roswell, NM, went to Heaven to be reunited with his wife Jeanna on August 31, 2021. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 6 at 10:00 am at Church on the Move with Pastor Sergio Tirado officiating. Due to the cemetery being closed for Labor Day burial will be Tuesday, September 7 at 11:00 am at Southpark Cemetery in Roswell, NM. Pepe was born in Indian Hot Springs, Texas to Simon Hernández and Lorenza Rayos on August 6, 1960. He married Jeanna Morales on December 7, 1985 in Jal, New Mexico. He worked as a diesel mechanic for NG trucking for 8 years. Pepe attended Church on the Move with his wife Jeanna. He was a very hard worker, enjoyed his job immensely, and was a great provider. Pepe loved his family, and was a very giving and generous person. Most of all he was a good husband, dad, tata, tio, and brother. Pepe was preceded in death by his wife Jeanna, his parents Simon and Lorenza, his sisters Eustolia and Rita, and his brother Miguel. Pepe is survived by his daughter and son in law Monica and Shawn Kelly of Roswell, NM, his daughter Mirey Hernández of Roswell, NM, his brothers Dolores Gómez of Hobbs, NM, Raúl Hernández of Jal, NM, Guadalupe Hernández of Porvenir, Mexico, and Julio Hernández of Porvenir, Mexico, and his sisters Cristina Mendoza of Fort Davis, Texas, Cuca H Martinez of San Ignacio, Mexico, Gloria H Martínez of Alpine, Texas, Lydia H Porras of Porvenir, Mexico, and Rosa Rayos of Amarillo, Texas, his grandchildren Aydan Kelly of Roswell, NM, Reshea Lozano and husband Nahum of Keller, Texas, and Johnathan Kelly of Artesia, NM. Pepe also has countless nieces and nephews who he loves very much and 5 great grandchildren. His brother in law and sister in law Brent and Sally Green and their children Mattie and Conner of Roswell, NM. Pepe had a second family that took him in when he moved away from home at an early age. They are Humberto Rodríguez, Víctor Rodríguez, Patricia Baker, and Oscar and Norma Luján.
