Obituary for Lennon Elliott This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, so I hope I convey how totally sweet and wonderful my “Little Lennon” was. Lennon was born on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1987 at 11:07 am to Toni Lynn and Charles Ray Elliott, Charles was born on 7-11, so we knew how special he was going to be (7-11/11-07). As a newborn, his one and only wonderful grandmother, Mary Ellen Quici, was worried because he didn’t do the baby “babbyling” He was a totally content baby. He grew up definitely talking, joking and making people laugh. I had him told about how “worried” his grandmother used to be and he just laughed with his cute dimples and freckles, which so many people commented on and used to grab his cheeks, because of them. I will never forget the time in second grade that his whole classroom walked down to our house and sang Christmas songs to him through the window, since he was ill. Also when a Partner at Hinkle Law Firm gave him colored pencils and markers because he could not get over how quiet and perfect he was sitting there waiting for me to get off work. Also this same Partner, Greg Nibert, gave him a hat when Lennon was acting as a doorman for him. Lennon just loved his hat. He was my little fireman when we had a kitchen fire. He was only in his underwear in the dead of winter and trying to put out the fire with the garden hose, being very careful to not get too close. He was my little doctor when I started having seizures, constantly checking on me. He was my little counselor when I would get so overwhelmed with life in general, and that very special bond would never be broken. He was our plumber, electrician and thankfully, our computer / electronics tech! Lennon, Jagger and I used to ride our bicycles on the path, around Roswell, and stop in to McDonald’s. Lennon, Jagger and his grandmother really enjoyed traveling to many places. They were her little companions and her life. Sadly, she passed away 3 days before Lennon’s 16th birthday. Lennon made Jagger and I so PROUD when he graduated from Roswell High in 2006! We screamed and hollered as loud as we could and also for his best friend, Paul T. Nunez, at the Wool Bowl. His face was beaming, as usual. He always spoke of attending ITT Tech. He excelled at the Motorcycle Driving Course that he attended. Growing up, he had such an infatuation with dry ice and liquid nitrogen, freezing lettuce, tennis balls and anything else he could find! His dream was to buy an Infinity G35 Twin Turbo Coupe. He would make the turbo sound while spending time with us. He absolutely loved that car! Lennon loved watching Street Racing, South Park, Seinfeld, How It’s Made, and Motorcycles, ESPECIALLY the Hybusa, his most favorite. He loved to hang out with his friends and listen to music while cruising in his Mitsubishi Mirage. His brother called the Mirage an egg which made him laugh. Jagger enjoyed getting Lennon to go out of town with him every chance he could. No matter what large city they traveled to, they HAD to go to Burger King! They traveled to Albuquerque a lot so they could hang out with their best friend, Mitch Morris. They also went to Ruidoso and gambled and most recently to Dallas. Lennon loved the big city of Dallas. He had thought about driving semi trucks to see the country and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, a place where we all had visited. He attended El Capitan Elementary, Sierra Middle and RHS and made lots of great lifetime friendships. He played basketball and soccer, and also played the coronet. Lennon loved when Mitch would come over and they would record music together on Lennon’s computer. You can hear Lennon laughing in the background and having a great time. Lennon would do his beat box for Mitch which he was really good at. He loved making sounds – music, motorcycles and cars. He saw ZZ Top, Rolling Stones, B.B. King, Method Man and also to D.L. Hughley comedy show. Lennon enjoyed listening to all music including SPM, TUPAC, JAY 2, Limp Buscuit, TRU, Afroman, Easy E and Eminem and his parents favorite, Rock and Roll! Lennon truly loved his dog, Smokey Bear! They had a favorite past time, SLEEPING! I am so thankful to have spent the preceding five days with Lennon doing some “spring cleaning”. We joked, laughed, and reminisced, so unlike his brother, we didn’t get too much accomplished, as usual. He was preceded by his grandmother, Mary Ellen Quici, his father, Charles Ray Elliott, and his grandfather, B. Tony Quici. He is survived by his brother, Jagger Ian Elliott, and his mother, Toni Lynn Laney, his uncle, Perry Lee Quici and cousins, Alex, Cara, and Bryan all of Corpus Christi, TX; and his great aunt, Beatrice Anderson and her sons, Blakely Ray,Jr., and Steven Smith all of Sallisaw, OK; his BEST FRIEND and former roommate, Paul T. Nunez of Bellingham, Washington. And of course, Mitch Morris and all his friends at Farmer’s Country Market where he was employed, especially Matt Capps; his friends at his former employer, Sam’s Club and his special friend, Meagan Corman. His and Jagger’s friends, Tony Wyatt, Jarred Ridge, Josh Mendoza, Anthony Fajardo, Luis Rivera, Rico Aguilar, Gabriel Padilla and Cody Hudson. Our life-long friends of the family, Jeanie Brock and her son, Brandon Tarvin, Phil and Donna Miles, Henry Reese, and Peter and Babs Morris. Services will be Saturday, 3:00 pm, March 14, 2009 at the Spanish Presbyterian Church on 3rd and Missouri Street with Adam Soliz and Del Carmona officiating. So, my “Little Lennon”, Jagger and I promise never to try to wake you anymore. We love and miss you so much, my little sweetie pie pumpkin eater.
