Leslie L. Keene

Leslie Len Keene, 60, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, in the comfort of his home in Roswell, New Mexico. There will be a Visitation at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a Graveside Service at South Park Cemetery on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Troy Grant officiating. On June 14, 1964, Leslie was born to Marvin Keene and Kathryn Lenderman Keene in Socorro, New Mexico. He spent years of his childhood living on a ranch in Sliver City, New Mexico, where he discovered his love for horses and riding bulls. Growing up he was always close to his siblings and cousins. At the age of 21 he married Roberta Muse, together they had four kids, Andrew, Racheal, Lindsey and Tyrell. He was a hard worker and a great provider. He worked roughnecking in the oil fields in West Texas for 8 years. He worked several years for Duke Cooper Construction operating heavy equipment, he was very talented at this job. He also had a passion for truck driving. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 30 years. Driving all those years he was able to visit every state in the contiguous United States. He would always tell people “I’ve driven more miles backwards than you have forwards”. He always had a good sense of humor, he loved to talk and had countless stories about his younger days. He really enjoyed gambling; he went to casinos all around the country. He was very passionate about politics and was a diehard Trump supporter. Leslie was a very humble, down to earth man. He would help anyone in need. He was a great dad and really loved his kids. He spent the last of his years in Roswell, NM. He took pride in being a grandpa, he loved spending time with his grandkids, picking them up from school, watching movies, even playing dolls with his granddaughter. He will be greatly missed and loved forever. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Leslie are his children: Racheal Hall (Damian), Lindsey Keene, Tyrell Keene, Andrew Madden (Mallory); grandchildren: Gavynn Garcia, Gracyella Garcia, Aniston Hall and Carson Hall; siblings: Frances Lewis, Randy Keene (Marisela), Sandra Sampson (Chuck); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Leslie is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Keene; mother, Kathryn Keene; paternal grandparents: Lewis Keene and Lilly Keene; maternal grandparents: Claude Lenderman, and Francis Rachel Lenderman; brother, Larry Keane; brother-in-law, Terry Lewis; and niece, Misty Lewis Gonzales. Blessed to be chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Dale Simpson, Terry Len Lenderman, Randy Keene, Greg Jones, Jim Britton, and Justin Rodriguez Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Tyrell Keene, Gavynn Garcia, Damian Hall, Bobby Garcia, Matt Garcia and Anthony Young. The family of Leslie wishes to extend sincere thanks to Jimmy Dale and Monica Simpson, the Garcia Family, Kellie Hurst, Daphne and Anthony Young and the Lewis Family. Leslie’s tribute was written in his honor by his daughter Lindsey Keene.
