Lucy Losolla

A funeral mass will be celebrated for Lucy Losolla, 71, of Roswell, Friday August 12, 2011, 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Juan Antonio Gutierrez OFM officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2011, 8am to 8pm. Lucy was called by our Lord on August 8, 2011. She was born August 11, 1939 in Roswell, NM to Pedro and Leandra Losolla. Lucy, from a very early age of about 10, started helping take care of her siblings. She gave up all her youthful years to care for her parents and 5 children, including herself. All of her brothers and sisters thought of her as their second mom. Lucy always had her doors open to family and friends alike who were in need of help. She always had a joke or a kind word for you when you were down or sad. She never met a stranger by her kindness and purest of hearts. She was well taken care of by her two caregivers, Elia Miranda and Gina Romero. They became her very good friends. Lucy touched so many lives because her giving heart. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalms 37:11 “But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.” She will be greatly missed by all her family and close friends. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son Daniel Losolla; daughters Mary Lou Bargas and husband Carlos, Esther Alonzo and husband Manuel of Torrance, CA; brother Orlando Losolla; sister Priscilla Carrrillo and husband Cooney; grandson Victor Losolla that she brought up as her own; grandchildren: Veronica and Cartitos Bargas, Roman Gabriel Alonzo, and Pucnhie; great grandchildren Little Victor, Lydia, Lulu, and Nathaniel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended famiy. She was preceded in death by her parents Pedro and leandra Losolla; brothers Eromelio and Raymond Losolla; and sister Mary Helen Villescas. Pallbearers will be Victor Losolla, Floyd Carrillo, Steven Losoya, Carlos Bargas Sr., Victor Armando Losolla Jr., and Daniel Losolla. Honorary pallbearers will be Cooney Carrillo, Joe Ray Carrillo, and Manuel Griego. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Lucy’s sister Priscilla Carrillo for the care, compassion, love, and support she gave throughout the years.
