Obituary for Luzmila Tarin A rosary will be recited for Luzmila Tarin, 48, of Roswell at 7 pm Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at St. John’s with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. Luzmila passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Visitation for Luzmila will be from 10 am to 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home and from 5:30 to 9 pm at St. John’s. The family will receive friends at a reception following the burial at the Ave Maria Center 401 E. Bland. Luzmila was born on March 24, 1959 to Pedro Tarin and Carlota Gomez Tarin in Ojinaga, Mexico. She moved to Roswell as a little girl in 1962. Luzmila worked as a beautician, at Burger King, and at Impact Confections here in Roswell. She loved to play bingo, do crossword puzzles, watch old movies on television, and volunteer at St. John’s and Church on the Move. Luzmila was an avid knitter; she knitted her granddaughter a blanket while she was very ill and finished it while in the hospital. Luzmila is survived by her parents, Pedro and Carlota Tarin; children, Angel Carranza, Arturo Madrid, and Stephanie Quintero; grandchildren, Jasmine, Maya, and Isabel; four brothers and their families, Raul Tarin and his wife, Stella, and their children, Teresa, Belinda, Pete, and Misty, Bert Tarin, sister-in-law, Rose Tarin, and their children, Jamie, Hector, and Veronica, Augustin Tarin and his wife, Lorena, and their children, Gilbert and Sugar; all of Roswell, and Michael Tarin and his wife, Angela, and their children, Rebekah Tarin, Allison, Renee, and Kristin Robinson of Gastonia, North Carolina; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Luzmila was preceded in death by three brothers, Arturo, Lupe, and Miguel Tarin. Pallbearers will be Jamie Tarin, Pete Tarin, Gilbert Tarin, Hector Tarin, Angel Carranza, and Veronica Tarin.
