Miguel Morales

Miguel Salas Morales, 67, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on January 6, 2017. Miguel was born on July 20, 1949, in Hagerman, to Alvaro and Arcilia Morales. A viewing will be held at 8:00 AM, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary to follow at 1:00 PM. Celebration of Life for Miguel will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, 10:00 AM, at St. Peters Catholic Church. Funeral Services will follow at General McBride Veteran Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at the American Legion, 1620 N. Montana. Miguel was a Retired Staff Sergeant Army Veteran and was very proud to have served his country. He was known to many in his unit as “Machinegun Mike.” He shared many stories of his 20 plus years in the Military, always talking about the comradery that he and his fellow soldiers shared. Miguel was a Vietnam Veteran and was a Tunnel Rat during his time served. He was very proud to be a part of the “BIG RED 1.” Miguel S. Morales was a very Decorated Soldier. He will be missed. Salute Hooah. Harley Davidson was a way of life for Miguel. Every road trip was an exciting one. If you ever had the chance to ride alongside with Miguel, it was all out on the highway. Keeping up with him was a challenge at times. Miguel was a member of the “PACK RC” known as “Jeffe” Ghostrider, the name given to him by his oldest son, whom also rode alongside him. RPFFRP. Miguel was a wonderful grandfather and enjoyed all his grandchildren’s activities. He was not just a great dad to his own children, but a wonderful dad to anyone that needed him. Miguel always had a smile on his face. Those left to cherish him are his sons: Michael Morales and wife, Erika, Marcos Morales, Fabian Morales and wife, Jamie, Matthew Morales, James Morales and daughters, Melissa Morales and Erica Chavez. Other children are: Johnny Sanchez and wife, Ramona, Tomas Sanchez and Edward Sanchez; brothers: Mario Morales and wife, Lucelda, and Gilbert “Beto” Morales. Miguel also had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Miguel is preceded in death by his father, Alvaro Morales and sister, Jane Morales. Obituary was lovingly written by Miguel’s family.
