Pamella Rena Harrell

PAMELLA RENA HARRELL, 59, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2019, after a long hard battle with cancer. Pam was born on July 12, 1960, in Roswell, New Mexico. In the early ’70’s, she moved to Amarillo, TX, with the family where she graduated from Amarillo High School. Pam then married Kelly Harrell in 1979 and had two beautiful children: Brandon Kelly Harrell and Shaina Kay Harrell. In the early 80’s, they moved to Alabama, where she and Kelly raised their children. In 1995, Pam returned home to Roswell to help run the family business, formerly known as Boot Scooters. She then met her life partner, Alonzo Padilla, who survives her at their family home. Pam enjoyed watching cooking shows and loved to read books. She was a very talented poem writer. She loved to take long road trips with her sister, Venessa. Pam always had the biggest heart, and her generosity, kindness, and love were always her greatest attributes. SURVIVORS: Pam is survived by her father, John Gray; life partner, Alonzo Padilla and his parents, Bennie and Lorraine Padilla; son, Brandon Harrell; daughter, Shaina Redd; stepson, Scott Straley; sisters: Venessa Burch and Kimberly Carlson; uncle, Benney Patterson; grandchildren: Morgan Harrell and Brett Zane Harrell; sisters-in-law: Cindy and Nick Garcia, Bonnie Padilla; brothers-in-law: Andre Padilla and Nancy H. Lara, LeeRoy Bell; nephews: Joshua and Mim Carrell, Dustin and Mallary Burch, Trey and Erica Burch, Tayler Carlson, Charlie and Dominic Bell, Angelo Padilla; numerous great-nieces and nephews; as well as the rest of the Padilla, Gomez, Gray, and Patterson families. PRECEDED: Preceding Pamella in death: her parents, Steve and Betty Carlson; and brother, Stevie Joe Carlson. The family wishes to give special Thanks” to Kymera Cancer Center and University of New Mexico Hospital (UNM)/Dr. Garth T. Olson and team. A Celebration Memorial will be announced at a later time. “IN MEMORY OF MY MOTHER” You were a precious gift from God above, so much beauty, grace and love. You touched our hearts in so many ways, your smile so bright even on the bad days. You heard God's whisper calling you home, you didn't want to go and leave us alone. You loved us so much, you held on tight, till all the strength was gone and you could no longer fight. He had called your name twice before, you knew you couldn't make him wait anymore. So you gave your hand to God and slowly drifted away, knowing that with our love we will be together again some day. - Mary Estelle
