A Funeral Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. Born on September 21, 1935, Patsy Ruth Emery was born to OD Emery and Ruth Dorrene Hatch in McAllen Hidalgo County Texas. She Married Lowell Edmund Davina May 27, 1955. She attended Weslaco senior high school and graduated in 1953 with honors; Then attended South West Texas State Teachers College in May 1955; she went to Texas College of Arts and industries and graduated May 1957, Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Vocational Home Economics Education. She worked at Eastern New Mexico University in the summers of 1962, 1974, 1980. Prior to retirement, Pat worked as a teacher for London Elementary School, London Texas third and fourth grade. She moved to Roswell then taught at Mesa Middle School 8th and 9th grade, home economics, civics and English, Goddard High School Civics, Comprehensive and home Economics at all 4 levels. In 1972 she started H.E.R.O., a vocational program that taught on job training. After retirement in 1990 Pat taught china painting classes, enjoyed travel, family, and friends. Pat was a smart, sweet, caring person to all, she always had time to visit with students from her past. She was a member of many clubs and organizations- Book Club, Yucca china Painting Club, Alpha Delta Kappa Women Educators organization-Zeta Chapter, Future Homemaker Association, United Teaching Profession. Pat had many best of show and blue ribbons from the state fair for her China painting. Other hobbies included sewing, needle work and bird watching. Pat loved all her family and friends she will be greatly missed. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Lowell Edmund Davina, her parents: OD Emery and Ruth Emery, and grandson, Jacob Edmund Davina. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Pat are her son, (Eddie) Lowell E. Davina Jr and wife Rayanna; grandchildren: Joseph and Wife Lisa, Patrick and wife Candice; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Shelly, Benjamin, Jed, Roper, Payge, and Ellada; siblings: Mary Louse Reynolds, Butch Emery and wife Georgia Ann; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was well loved. Pallbearers are grandsons: Joseph Davina and Patrick Davina; great-grandsons: Joseph Davina Jr, Roper Davina, Hayden York and Benjamin Benson. The family of Patsy wishes to extend sincere thanks to Veronica, Maritza, Angela, Linda, Paty, Amalia, and Maria that help Pat for many years and Genetiva Hospice who was there at the end to help her and her family.
