Pauline Marie Gaucher

On the afternoon of March 3, 2016, Pauline Marie Gaucher, after a long illness, passed away peacefully. Pauline was being visited and comforted by family members at the Casa Maria Pecos Valley Rehabilitation Suites at the time of her passing. Pauline was 84 years old. Pauline was born in the town of Les Ecureuils (now called Donna Cona) P.Q. Canada, at 10:00 AM on November 15, 1931. She was the second daughter, of Irene and Alfred Leclaire. Though of dual citizenship at birth, she became a proud naturalized US Citizen in 1973. She is survived by her husband Lawrence Gaucher, her two sons Bruce Gaucher and his wife, Edie Stevens and Brian Gaucher and his wife, Kristina Root. She had one granddaughter by Bruce; Jessica Brunelle married to Gary Brunelle. She has two great grandchildren Makeeda and Gavin. Pauline was truly a special and unique person who will be missed by many. There are few in the world with Pauline’s dedication to family as both wife and mother. She rose each dawn before all others and prepared the way for them to be safe, secure and fed. She worked tirelessly all her life, from her earliest job at the Handipad in Worcester, MA to her longest job at McDonald’s where she worked for over 25years sharing her laughter and good will with all who came. No matter what, she ended each day doing what she loved, cooking wonderful meals for her family and making the best of all that she had. In essence, Pauline lived humbly to serve others, both family and friends. Through her example she taught all those around her; she was a teacher of life in all its forms and what life was at its very essence to survive. There will be a celebration of life Memorial service at Aldersgate Methodist Church on Thursday, March 10,, 2016, 10:00 AM. There will be a potluck gathering after the service for those that wish to join. Rev. Jim Bignell will be presiding and his wife Carol Bignell will be coordinating the food and flowers. Though flowers may be sent to the church prior to Thursday, the family would prefer that a donation be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065; development@mskcc.org The family wishes to send a special thanks and sincerest appreciation to all the staff at Casa Maria Pecos Valley Rehabilitation Suites for their tireless efforts to make Pauline’s last moments as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
