Services will be held at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home at 11 am on Friday, December 7, 2012. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Becky will be cremated per her wishes. Family will be receiving friends at the Knights of Columbus immediately following. Becky passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home in Odessa, Texas. Becky was born May 31, 1957 in Downey, California to Jacob and Gloria Varela. Becky loved her animals, Miss Piggy, Lu Lu, her cat, Mr. Smokey Man and bird Princess, enjoyed doing crafts and loved to play Bingo. She is survived by her significant other Randall Skinner; her mother, Gloria Varela of Roswell; her brother, Jacob Varela and her sister-in-law, Rose of Roswell; her brother, Carl Varela of Greenville, North Carolina; her brother, Thomas Varela of Roswell; her sister, Marlene Reader of Lakewood, California; her godson, Michael Varela, her nephews, Ronnie and Nicholas Reader; her nieces, Mamie and Mandie Varela, Michelle and Lisa Reader; her aunts, Lee Kalinsky, Sally Graven and Joan Nunez; her uncles, Danny Varela and his wife, Betty and Esley Robinson; her best friends, Bobbie Burruss and Mary Hewatt and numerous cousins that loved her. Becky was preceded in death by her guardian angels, her father, Jacob Varela, her twin brother, Michael Arthur Varela, her grandparents, Joseph and Rebecca Varela, Seripio and Erminia Nunez and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services are under the direction of Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Last night while I was trying to sleep, Rebecca’s voice I did hear. I opened my eyes and looked around, but she did not appear. She said you’ve got to listen; you’ve got to understand. God didn’t take me from you, he only took my hand. When I called out in pain The instant that I died, he reached down and pulled me to his side. He pulled me up and saved me from misery and pain. My body was hurt so badly inside I could never be the same My search is really over now, I’ve found happiness within. All the answers to my empty dreams and all that might have been. I love you all and miss you so, and I’ll always be nearby. My body’s gone forever, but my spirit will never die ! And so, you must all go on now, live one day at a time. Just understand, God did not take me from you, He only took my hand.
